Pretty sure Jeff and Stone were pretty forthcoming about the sessions. Maybe there were some run throughs that were recorded, but I’m pretty sure the songs they finished for the LP and the EP were it. Neil wrote the songs at night came in, they learned it and they bashed them out. Now maybe there are different takes and maybe Neil will prefer a solo or something here and there, but I’m willing to bet that nothing from MB will be expanded and the only archives representation will be the show.

Watched in a local theatre today. Best time is on stage, nice venues. The whole talking in the tourbus is uninteresting if not boring. Bits of sightseeing thanks to the tourbus windows. There is not a second cinema gold in it.
Looks like a home movie made direct for streaming or a release on the own home page.

There is just one Archives LP release? The "Archives III takes" ? Tehre is no "II Takes" or anything?

    Is it worth getting?

It's a pretty fun release, amongst all mentally-draining LP releases he is doing...

Takes a great pickup at a discount price. I wish he would do one for Vols 1 and 2 too.

Surely you mean the “ARCHVIES Vol. III Takes” record

Quality Control on the artwork aside, it’s a cool record. And yeah, it would be nice if he did a ‘Takes’ style release for ARHCIVES I and AHRCVIES II as well. The previously unreleased songs on II would make a great album.

Yeah. Seems like a cool little record, for someone who will never buy the CD/BD boxsets. And is tired of endless live releases

38 dollars I found it for here... hmm...

Is there any info in a booklet or something about why that selection of songs?

    Not that I can remember.
It's one song each from 16 of the 17 Archives III discs, not sure if they are Neil's favourites or just random choices

Just found that the Harvest 50th anniversary box set has gone kind of cheap. I already have the album ofc, and don't care about the blurays (don't have a player anymore). But how is the book that comes with it? Is it meaty? Does it have value?

EDIT: Seeing the average price on discogs. Maybe it wasn't all that cheap.

Its a good sized book (maybe 40 pages?). LP sized hardback. Mainly photos and glorified liners. But theres a few pages of a writeup. Its meant to house the CD/DVD component of the box.

The packaging is very nice. Textured sleeves and box. I got it for about $60

Its like 85-90 here... but remembering it being like 150 or more at my local shop when it was relased.

Just realised you also get the BBC concert on LP. So that is nice also.
