  • Went to the Birmingham show on Tuesday night. Neil and the horse tore the place up! Great set which was messed about with compared to the other Euro shows. I shouted for Cortez and they played it. It was beautiful to witness. Great night. May go to Liverpool in august now

Yep, certainly was a great show on Tuesday!! Cracking set list! Neil seemed in good humour too!

Closing tracks - Cortez, Mr Soul, My My Hey Hey, followed by Powederfinger was just awesome!

Think he's got Band of Horses supporting in Liverpool! Too tempting! The Who there in couple of weeks too!

Considering going to Liverpool and I like Band Of Horses too so it's a no brainer really. You're right about the closing songs, stunning. Would've loved RITFW to end it but I would've probably burst into flames at that point. Great show from beginning to end.

He was brilliant in Dublin, despite the negative reviews. Lots of people bitching about the long jams and guitar solos but they clearly have no idea what to expect from an NY & Crazy Horse show. Highlights for me were Walk Like A Giant, Cortez and Fuckin Up. Third time seeing him, and hope I get to see him many more times in the future, what a legend :)

How were the ticket prices for this tour? Last I checked ( a couple years ago), Uncle Neil's prices were going through the roof...

    cool! i have
    everybody knows this is nowhere
    after the goldrush
    harvest
    time fades away
    tonights the night
    on the beach
    zuma
    comes a time
    american stars and bars
    rust never sleeps
    hawks and doves (my favourite)
    reactor
    trans

most of these were very cheap 2nd hand. theres a few more 80s albums i can get cheap. but his 90s and 00 albums are quite expensive.

I recently decided that i like neil young more than pearl jam. but if it wasn't for pearl jam i would not have discovered a lot of great music!

collecting Neil young albums is a lot of fun :P

Nice one dude, you have a great collection going there, are you planning on getting them all on vinyl?

    So far I have:

    After the Goldrush
    Harvest
    Greatest Hits
    Mirrorball
    On The Beach
    Live Rust
    Ragged Glory
    & Weld

I'd like to get Harvest Moon next, I love his 90's output, but yes expensive! So why is Hawks and Doves your favourite? I have'nt heard that one yet...

Ive kind of been going in chronological order, I would love to get all of them but probably would have to rely on some re-issues.

Hawks and doves is cool because its divided into two sides, side A is really soft and all the songs are great. and then side B is full on country haha, which isnt usually my favorite kind of music but it puts me in a good mood every time, The whole album is perfect if you wake up a little hungover and by the end of it you will be up dancing.

He technically has much better albums like "on the beach" and "tonights the night" but hawks and doves is a personal fav 8-)

Here's my Neil collection (some I have duplicates of):

    Neil Young
    Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
    After The Gold Rush
    Harvest
    On The Beach
    Tonight's The Night
    Zuma
    Long May You Run
    Comes a Time
    Rust Never Sleeps
    Hawks and Doves
    Reactor
    Everybody's Rockin'
    Americana

Crazy to think that I'm only missing American Stars from his first 14 albums, and yet my collection isn't even half of what he's released (I've got 16 of his 37 albums). He's so prolific!

My guess is you'll be quite pleased when you add American Stars and Bars to that collection. :D
