The battle for Wisconsin- WI needs all of you!

Brothers, sisters, we thank you all for coming here last year for PJ 20. Now, WI needs all of you like never before. WI is ground zero for the underhanded billionaire tactics that are trying to squash all workers rights in a systematic and calculated way - not just public employee unions which was the lie they told- that is just the first step. Watch Scott Walker tell one of his billionaire donors this is the ‘divide and conquer’ plan for all workers at this link below: Walker has $25M from out of state billionaires to do their bidding. Tom Barrett has less than $2M, but the grass roots is strong here and Barrett only has just $2M to support door to door volunteers. Please give $1 or whatever you can to Barrett's effort. What starts here will not end here. If Walker wins this repeal of workers and womens rights will go forward all over the country - if we stop them here, we can end it here! Ed and the boys, how about a Rock the Vote benefit? Time is at hand,, but It's not too late! We have until June 5th to rally this thing! Get these links to as many people as you can, please! This state is the ultimate battle of the haves vs. the have not’s (“the haves have not a clue!”).
PS- I don't work for Barrett - I just had to my small part - u too? Click below- I am (we are) a patriot(s)!

I've been thinking a lot about your state as of late. Chicagoans are pulling for you. Good luck!

Then all of you can come on down and help us. Chicago's plight has been completely overlooked while being crushed by the same agenda. Interesting how it's two different parties, same tactics. They're squashing freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, libraries, workers' rights and spreading falsities with stats that don't exist.

Scott Walker isn't so far from Rahm Emanuel.

    Good luck Wisco!

PATHETIC. Walker isnt perfect, far from it.... but to say that hes squashing all workers rights?? thats HORRIBLY inaccurate. We all saw what Barrett did to Milwaukee when he was mayor...you really think hes the answer for the whole state?? Walker did what was fair, make fair cuts to balance an outrageous budget blown outta wack by a democratic governor. He did exactly what he campaigned on. Im a union worker, and i still have a ton of rights. just that i have to pay into my own health insurance and pension, and cant collective bargain my wage sky high and fuck the real tax payers by forcing them to pay for my retirement. COMPLETELY FAIR. turn off fox 6 or cnn and do the research and think for yourself.

One word of warning of donating to either political party. My friend donated $100 to the GOP a month ago. He now gets four calls a day on average from organizations looking for more money. And he didn't even give him his phone number and he is in the "do not call" registry.

I've decided this year instead of political donations I'm giving to our local food bank, Philabundance. No reason why people in this country should go hungry and there's no reason why I should be pumping even more money into this silly system.

I am rooting against Walker but I feel like this is a bad precedent. If you don't like the governor, well let's just gather some signatures and get rid of him. Sounds like some unstable government like Italy that changes every 6 months so that nothing ever gets done. He is doing what he said he would do, just like Corbett is in PA. We will try to get rid of him in 2014 but we are stuck with him until then because he was elected for a 4 year term and our government is not supposed to be anarchy.

i have never donated to a republican in my life and i get robocalls from republicans asking me for money. i am on the no-call registry too.

i had donated to the dccc in the past, and they called me so often i told them to fuck off and that i will donate to individual candidates if i felt like donating.

by the way, i am normally against recall elections because hey, your state hired this guy, the state should have to deal with it. you break it you bought it.

that said, this walker guy has done a lot of damage and needs to be challenged and held accountable. if he survives he survives. if not, good luck to the guy/gal that you vote in to replace him.

hopefully the voters of wisconsin have awakened and remove this guy before he can further push his agenda.

What damage has he done? Save the state $?

I'm in a union and I applaud his efforts. I wish they'd reign in taxpayer funded pensions in Illinois, we have a pension liability of $84B!

I had responded to one of the dccc on-line petitions and I think that must have put me on the dccc email-of-the-hour club. It's too bad because they put out good info at times but theirs is not a good way to get people involved. Over-saturation of email and calls just turn people off.

the same place where the funding for the public schools and education and teacher pay comes from. taxes.

why not use some of that homeland security money that the states aren't using?

didn't walker refuse to take money from the federal government and then request it later to be used for something other than what it was alotted for?

the teacher pensions are not bankrupting the state, so you can stop it with the right wing talking point. nobody is buying that the teachers are the only problem. teaching is arguably the most important job in this country. if you stop teacher pensions and prevent them from collectively bargaining you are going to keep the good ones from continuing to teach. or they will just leave the state.

it is a terrible thing that you are scapegoating teachers. without teachers you would not have the career that you have.

This is why change will NEVER happen in this country. When someone does something drastic, now it's ok to recall. F recalls. If he's so bad, don't re-elect him and fix the issues. Everyone has their personal agendas. I'm not saying yours is a bad one or a good one. irrelevant. Once you start parsing the issues like this, that's why change doesn't happen. We need drastic for the country. Maybe, this is too much so. That's not the point. But, it's better than the hopey/changey thing that has only hopied/changied us for the worse. And we don't ask for a recall. We'll (hopefully) take care of it in November (and June ;) ).
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Yes public union pensions are the largest cost by far to Illinois. It's time to switch new hires over to a 401k and eliminate taxpayer funded pensions.

So you now think it's acceptable for taxpayers in Texas to bail out the pensions of Illinois?

Totally agree with the bold part... Grandfather teachers into the pension system, but new ones should not have it. We all have to plan (and pay for) our retirement, why should we all have to pay for government employees' as well.

I'm good with keeping pensions in place for the military, and probably even police/firemen, but other state/federal positions shouldn't have a taxpayer funded pension.

I do think we should take care of people who put themselves in harm's way in job's that protect us in one way or another. I'm not dead set on continuing pensions for those occupations either, because there are large numbers of those people who aren't in harms way.

excited to see that a lot of the people who voted for Walker will probably still support the president in NOV. while i am not excited at the prospect of Obama winning WI anymore than the next conservative, it helps forward the idea that people can vote without blind loyalty to a party. i am also glad it is over...there was so much spill over of negative campaign adds against walker here in Minneapolis it was sickening...

My main thought is that you should not be able to recall someone who gets elected and then does what he said he was going to do while campaigning. That is what the original election was for.

    Secondary thoughts:

    * This must have been a spur for the state-wide economy considering how much money was pumped into campaigning.

    * This was a double-or-nothing bet by the unions ... and now they have to take the bus home from Vegas.

    * I have no idea how this affects November.

Yeah I guess the other problem was that the Democrats really didn't come up with an attractive candidate.

This is actually spin. The clear message from the Wisconsin recall was that the voters of Wisconsin didn't like the idea of a recall in this situation and that it didn't warrant it.
