I tried the other day. I highly doubt it sold out already. Probably just need to wait a bit. Wonder how many different versions there will be.
Just a few…
Electric Smoke and Tiger's Eye for me. Electric Smoke from Germany was actually cheaper, including shipping, than the Tiger's Eye.
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th 1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California Nothing since then. I suck. 2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights 2022- Oakland Night 2 2024 Sacramento, CA
I don't know if it's just me but the vocals on the new song, Brian's, not Bruces, sound... off? Almost like a demo track? Anyway, I like the new song and ordered the magnolia vinyl. I used the code 20OFF and it gave 20% off which brought it to like 28$ shipped.

Most people are feeling that way about the new songs.

I don’t think you’re far off with the demo analogy. I think it’s an attempt to make the songs feel less polished and more intimate. Like a layered scratchy vibe that feels like a vinyl record. They’ve done it with other songs… the beginning of Dark Places immediately comes to mind. And the intro to Great Expectations.

59 sound and American Slang have that sound, which I never could figure out if it’s intentional or just poor recording. Handwritten and Get Hurt sounded fine, as did his solo albums, so I’m not sure why they would do this, especially since Bruce’s vocals were clean
Went to the show last night in Richmond with TGA opening for Avail. Short festival set that was interrupted by lightning in the area. Didn't get any new songs and the majority of the crowd wasn't into them but I still enjoyed it.
Brian was on one of the local radio stations here in NJ last week for an interview and a couple live songs - Postive Charge and National Anthem. I caught part of it on a replay this morning while running my daughter to basketball camp. The full version is up on their website and youtube.
I like all three songs but I hope the album sounds better than what's on YouTube. I've listened to them through my home stereo and the newest song sounds the worst. Sounds like a garage recording.
Totally agree on the first ones. This one sounds a bit better to me though.
I want to agree with you so bad but I don’t. The new one sounds even worse to me. There’s one point where everything is so muddled together it makes me cringe
American Slang is one of the worst sounding albums in the last many years, 59 sounds right behind it. Vinyl, digital, CD, they’re flat, muddy, and lifeless. This must be a conscious choice by Fallon or the collective group, but it really is a challenge to listen to.
Always felt like the production of 59 sound was great and fit the vibe of that record. Don’t think by any means Slang is a top tier mix but it’s light years better than what’s coming out now IMO
I guess the question is if there is anyone besides the band who thinks the mix sounds good or decent? I am definitely no audiophile snob, so the fact that it sounds so glaringly off says something. At least to me. If the band is happy, so be it.

Played recording of another new song last night
"Yeah well that's how we wanted it to sound and the guy who mixed it has a case full of trophies for Best Mixing."
"I don't know about all that but I don't like how it sounds."
