    It sounds great!
  • http://youtu.be/2LOeImx0kW4 There's a link to the new song Runaways. Solid song, sounds like they're maturing. The Killers are one of the few bands to come out in the last decade that I'm truly a big fan of.

    Are you sure thats the right link? I'm pretty sure I just listened to a theme song from an 80's TV show. Thought I was gonna hear....."makin your way in the world today takes everything ya got".......

    The Killers blow.

    I've been waiting for new music from then for a LONG time now and here is my opinions on the new song;

    Upon first listen I immediately thought it sounded like a mix between Day and Age and Flamingo, which isn't a bad thing. I love Brandon's voice on the song, although the music and lyrics are a little weak, I think it's a decent song. I am a little disappointed with it, as they band members have said in numerous interviews that their new material would have more guitars and sound more like songs from Sam's Town. That got my excited seeing as that is my favorite album of theirs and one of my favorites of all time. Now I hope that is just how one of the songs sounds like and that the rest of the album will have a different feel to it. I do like the song alot, and even more with each listen, but I don't think it's their strongest work yet. However, with that being said, I am eagerly awaiting their new album, can't wait to hear it!

    their new song Runaways - upon first listen i wasnt impressed at all...after about 9 listens i am LOVING it....cant say i love it as much as Hot Fuss but this is a good song that would have fit well on Sam's Town which is an underrated record to me....im sure Battle Born will be a great album tho..hoping theyll tour close to home because ive never seen them in concert but wherever they tour close by i plan to go

  • Battle Born has leaked, and it is brilliant! Picks up where Sam's Town left off. The title track is the most epic song they've ever done. The guitar is back, quite a few solos on the album from Dave. I think people here will like it!

    I have to agree and disagree. It is brilliant, but from the first listen, it sounds more like Hot Fuss and Day and Age. Which works, but in my opinion is far from Sam's Town (which is my favorite Killer's album of all time) But It is have great guitar from Dave, but I feel it still lacked guitar, or more reasonable, I had my hopes up too much for more guitar. It has great stand out tracks like "Rising Tide", "Battle Born" "From here on out" and "Heart of a Girl" but it also has some that either are a little too forgetful or sound similar to other song on the album. I love all the songs, there isn't any I don't like, but I feel like (with one listen) that is their weakest album. But I do get why people feel it sounds like Sam's Town. Since the Killers are my second favorite band, probably by the 5th listen I will LOVE IT. But I'm curious if it will top Day and Age for me. It is a great album thought. LONG LIVE THE KILLERS!!! :mrgreen:

    So is Battle Born red vinyl purchase worthy IYO?

    PS - I've seen The Killers 3 times live, once at MSG, and they put on a good show IF they get the sound right. They need a new sound technician. :?

    I have not received the vinyl yet, they don't ship til next Tuesday, when the album is released. But listening to the album a third time, it is more than worth it.

    My kids are curious about the music I listen to, they are always asking "Who's that?". It's hard trying to explain to little kids that the band is called "The Killers". They seem to think that I like to listen to murderers.
    Lol! Just tell them it's the other kind of killer, as in, that outfit is killer, or that song was killer, or perhaps like the heat being a killer. I always assumed that's what they actually do mean by it (or perhaps something a little more complex), but i have never bothered to check how the name came about. Just don't think the intension was a violent context.

    A few years back they were in Boston and they came into WBCN's studios when Toucher and Rich were on the air. I had never heard of them at that point but knew they were a band. They get welcomed and the first question they are asked by Fred Toucher was, "So, how many people have you actually killed?" :lol:

    I saw them at MSG by getting into a radio contest where I had to spend the night in one of those haunted fun houses at the amusement park, and then eat horrible shit and go on rides until I puked on the air. :lol: All expenses paid trip to NYC for two, including front row tix to The Killers show... that was a good week! :D The contest was pretty weird though. :?

    Happy to hear good reviews on the album. I really liked their first two, but hated Day & Age. If the have put out something close to Hot Fuss or Sam's Town I will definitely pick it up!
