I have a wedding to attend on Saturday. It's one of my cousins from my father's side. It is now to the point where I am only one of two left on each side of my family that is not married. What does that mean? It means I get fucking harrassed everytime I go to one about if I'm "next". I end up getting indignant and start spitting the venom at people with my diatride on "Just because I'm 31 or because I've been dating someone for "X" amount years does that mean I 'have to' get married?" What's the deal? I'm not worried about it so why are they? The good thing is that my parents never say a word. They know I do my own thing in my own time, the way it always has been. As much as it annoys me, I expect it now, which is almost fun because it gives me an excuse to come out with some crazy or short answers and then walk away. I love just giving people the wrong impression or idea, boggling them and then walking off based around their own ignorance.
Yes, I have been asked enough or approached about it that it requires this much attention :D Bastards.

The funny part about all of this is that out of all of the guys here, only MC is married. The rest of us are single (not engaged, dating counts as single for the most part ;) And I can feel your pain sean, after July, I will be the oldest one in my family not married and no kids. I have 3 sisters who each have a kid (none married). No one really harrasses me about it since I've been thru the war (as fanch would say) but its still funny thinking about it and listening to the random comments that some people in my family make.

And I heard that the remake Omen sucks... bascially same as the first in all aspects.

I love that thread... I know we got the envelope with our tickets in it for each show. And if I had seen someone blatantly doing that at the ticket window, someone would have heard about it then and there. Fuck making a scene, its just fucked up. I mean as MC about the problems he had with tickets because him and his nephew have the same last name... its ridiculous

Well my dad didn't married till he was 31 and my grandfather until he was 30 and he married an 18 year old he freed from a concentration camp (Long story short my Filipino Grandfather helped lead a sneak attack on a Japanese Concentration camp during WW2 and freed a ton of civilians) so there's no pressure on me at all.

Out of all the relatives in my family 23-32, I think only 3 out of 12 of us are married. Though everyone thinks I'll be the next to fall if and when I ever get back together with April. Though I'm not sure I could deal with a uber liberal eco girl who works for the EPA for the rest of my life. ;)

I just tell people I'd rather be a lil lonely periodically than miserable (ie being with someone just out of some co-dependent need to be as such). That usually stops any further questions.

Speaking of "the war," the ex is coming to get the entertainment center tonight (she has finally graduated from UC and is moving to another city to begin hear new career). When I bought the new widescreen, I told her she could take the entertainment center because it was a wedding gift.

We're on friendly terms now so it's cool. Not really "looking forward to it," though. I have plans with a friend afterwards.

Eh...marriage is over-rated....I wouldnt have half of what I have now if I was still with my ex let alone being married. God knows I wouldnt be doing 9 PJ shows this tour if I was!! LOL, just kidding, no offense Lew!!

You fuckers are still young, well BA isnt that far behind me....but anyway, have fun, whats the rush?? :)

There are two younger girls who work with me that are like 25ish and they both are like "OMG if Im not married by the time Im 30!!" and neither of them have b/f's or they go out with a guy for a few months then they are done with them b/c they dont have as much fun with them as they do with their friends from college or something. I never understood this need to be married by a certain age.

Honestly, I probably have more because I was married then if I never gotten married. That said, I would sure as hell not being seeing all of these shows and doing everything that I have been able to do this year and previously. And spending a chunk of my time in this damn pit ;) I got married young and am happy to enjoy life right now...
fanch- I'm still on good terms with the ex, which I'm happy about. I do enjoy throwing out that I'm going to VEGAS and the Gorge this summer while she won't be traveling at all. And to make it even better, I found out that she's prego and still living at home while engaged... damn how lucky am I :D

Yeah.. my timeframe for kids is 40 or so at the latest... that way when the kid is 20 I'll be 60. Figure that's manageable, after that age don't think I would wanna deal with a young child.

thats bc there is sometimes pressure on women to get married and have kids by a certain age (society, physical, family). im not saying i totally agree with it, but its still there, whether people like to acknowledge it or not. this subject comes up quite frequently in convos i have with certain people, i wont discuss it here though. i think its kinda personal. i just think guys and gals view this totally differently.

This is true, the whole children thing. Actually people ask me all the time about that and I tell them that Im already too old to have kids. I have nieces and nephews I can deal with.

Excellent, Mike. Thats great, very good for you! After it's over, there's no reason to be angry or resentment. I found myself emotionally much healthier to let it go and to speak flippantly of it, rather than pissed off all the time.

So I hear there is an over abundance of busty Pearl Jam brunettes in the Northwest.

What happens in Washington.... (just to make sure I blanket the whole trip since Gorge isn't in Seattle Proper) and you know the rest.
