    Funnel cake is awesome.

I thought that I just smelled some but that would be impossible...weird.

I could eat two right now. MMMMMMmmmmmm!

I was craving funnel cake this weekend.. but alas none to be found. Just some soft pretzels, hot dogs and cinnamon almonds.

My aunt was probably working in the maternity ward. She's an obstetrician and worked at Lourdes for a couple of years before I was born before she moved to Boston.

I'm almost positive. She worked in Philly when she first came to the country and then at Lourdes and then moved to Boston the summer before I was born.

Both of my kids were born there. Because of its location and the type of hospital it is, they get a lot of really young mothers (13-15 yrs old)in there giving birth. When we were there for our first, I was like WTF! These kids were in the labor and delivery rooms screaming their headf off. I'd see them later walking with their babies and i couldn't believe how young they were. My daughter was born early and had to spend her first few days in the NICU. There were so many "crack babies" in incubators in the unit. The babies were like 8" long. One died while we were there feeding our daughter. The baby was the size of a small shoe. No one (parents) was there for it. Damn, I'm getting freaked out now recalling it. i've got to stop. Man i hope everything goes well for us in August because i want no parts of that unit ever again. It's so sad. The people that work there are amazing individuals and thank God they're strong enough to do it. I almost passed out just being in there.

Damn sorry to hear that MC.. my buddy's baby is in one of those units right now. She was born like 3 months premature, luckily everything has been going well but she's had to fight a couple of infections lately. Hopefully he'll be able to take her home soon. The actual due date was like mid to late April. But being in that place puts a lot of things in perspective. Makes you think and appreciate what you have.

I hope everything goes well for them. It sounds like they may be through the worst since the original due date is not far off from now. Right around 34-36 weeks is a critical period because it's when the lungs are developing. The lungs are the last major organ to develope. After the lungs the baby just gains weight and grows (36 weeks on). I'm sorry your friends are going through that experience and I hope that she goes home soon.

You are very right my friend. It is too easy to take things for granted.

Yeah she was on a breathing machine for awhile but doing well now and putting on weight.. feel bad for him though since he just works and goes to the hospital and usually hits Byrne's after the hospital.. same routine everyday. I know they'll be happy next month when they can finally take the baby home.

Now back to some PJ even though my ears are hurting with MMR playing creed right now.. ewwww
