Ranger fans can gloat that the Devils lost in the Finals? They should worry about their own team.

One of the best nights of my life. Just absolutely surreal that this dream came true after so many years.

Game 3 of the Kings-Devils series drew 1.74 million viewers, down 37% from Game 3 in the 2011 Stanley Cup finals, which was also aired on a cable channel.

Bernier shouldn't have made the hit because it was dangerous. I agree with that. But I don't believe that we should remember him with sympathy instead of rage. I don't think we should remember him at all. We lost more on the fact that it ended up being a 5 minute major, and that we let up 3 goals, and that we couldn't come back from that.

I hear you. Without a rooting interest last night, I thought he was an idiot and felt slightly bad for him at the same time.

It doesn't help when one of the teams involved is located where hockey is relatively unknown. Although if Canadian viewer are not counted in ratings, my theory is screwed.

    Ha. ;)

I lived is SoCal for several years and I still remember the total amount of hockey conversations I had with the common populace ... zero.

Come to think of it, after spending more then a decade on the west coast, I think that total is still zero. :?

Congrats to the Kings and their fans. Great run.

Makes sense about the TV ratings down. Last year's finals included an Original Six and a Canadian team. Last year was one for the ages. This year, not so much. The Kings looked in control the entire series. Tip of the cap to them for a fantastic display the past few weeks.

I'm not making fun of LA or Kings fans who are passionate. I'm just noting that in a decade on the west coast, hockey never came up in conversation at work or when I was out on the town. What I'm saying is that with the majority of the population, hockey is out of sight and out of mind.

And cheers to the faithful that follow the Kings and Sharks (screw you, anaheim)

well let's be honest...the majority of people here know more about the kardashintons than anything else so i can see how trying to talk about hockey would be difficult
