Ever go to the bar alone, and sit at at the bar with all the old men that have no one to go home to?

I'm Sitting here, and yes, feel very pathetic.

Anyone else ever go it alone at the bar?
Peace, Love.

I like checkin' into a bar all by myself sometimes; get involved with some of the conversation, you'll probably learn something, or at least have something to laugh about. They're usually an interesting crowd, remember "There's a lot more old drunks around than old doctors."....

Plenty of times. Usually just to go grab something to eat and have a few beers if the lady isn't around and I'm on my own for dinner. Some people are afraid to do it, but I actually enjoy it.

I've gotten over that feeling and go to the bar whenever I want. I'll go when there's a game on and I don't have any beer at home, or if I just want a change of scenery. I've definitely done a bunch of posting here when it happens.

It all started after my last big breakup and I wasn't used to having nothing to do. Now I just go when I feel. There's no reason to feel like your pathetic.

The only time I've ever felt embarrassed is that time someone I knew came and sat beside me.

There have also been times where I've technically been at bars alone, but a friend of mine has either been the bar manager or bartender. I guess that's a different story though.

Depends on the bar, day and time.

Are you scared of going to the movies alone too?

I don't think it would normally bother me. Circumstances I guess.

I have been listening into some conversations. Entertaining indeed. I think they think I'm a cop or osomething.
Either that or I'm just not good enough for them. I guess my liver is in too good shape. Hehe.
    Peace, Love.

Yeah. Kinda why I'm here now. Not really broken up, but in a weird place with my girl.

I did come in to eat too. Now I'm just Sitting here because I have absolutely no place to go.

I couldn't handle another 13 hours of just Sitting in the car reading until its time to go to work tomorrow. :)

Just have a few drinks, enjoy your food, watch whatever's on the TV (if they're present), and strike up a conversation with an interesting person if you want. If you're posting on your phone, remember that surfing the web an posting on online forums uses up a lot of battery. Just enjoy yourself and don't overthink things.

He had to go to the movies alone. Would you want to go WITH him?

No problem going to either the bar or the movies solo, I think I skipped out on work last year for March Madness and went to the bar all afternoon.

I think it also depends on the city as well. Though I think you can't go to the bar by yourself on a Friday or Saturday no matter where you are, maybe even Thursday too. Wednesday is fine.

But why aren't you at a strip bar, never alone there :D

There's a bar I go to after work a couple times during the week by myself.
After a while, you start to get to know the other 'regulars' and join in on conversations with them!
Sometimes the bartenders will start chatting it up too.
It might be awkward at first but you get used to it!

AND they learn your order quick so you get a beer brought to you as soon as you come in!

I used to be really shy (stop laughing, 81, it's true) but decided to get over it.

Mr. Unlost works overnight shifts, and travels a lot, so I enjoy time by myself. But I also like to go out.

So now I will belly on up to the bar by myself, maybe order dinner or have a beer or three, watch TV, do some posting, read a book, and enjoy people watching.

I also will go to movies by myself, because Mr. Unlost and I don't have the same taste.

And I will go to restaurants by myself.

So I'm either a late-in-life extrovert, or an incredibly pathetic loser.

    :? :|

I'm on the road for work all the time and I like to drink so....yeah, do it all the time! :D
In fact, I almost prefer it :? You meet all kinds of people and it's almost more fun to me. I often eat alone at restaurants and I almost always eat at the bar by myself too.
