  • god you anti gun nuts really make me laugh.

the nra convention is in my fair city this weekend. 65,000 gun nuts are going to be in our convention center, and most of them no doubt will be packing some sort of heat.

my city has a huge problem with gun violence. way too many shootings and gun murders. some years it is as high or higher than chicago and detroit. i think it is pretty tasteless for them to come here.

i would be down there silently protesting with the rest of them but then come next week we might be discussing my own shooting...
if you think what I believe is stupid, bizarre, ridiculous or outrageous.....it's ok, I think I had a brain tumor when I wrote that.

I'm not anti-gun but I am against guns getting into the wrong hands. Unfortunately our country hasn't figured out how to keep this from happening. Not even a little bit.

America's military isn't anywhere near the largest. It's just got the most technology available to it. Just sayin'. Anyway, yeah, it sure as hell isn't citizens with guns keeping us free, nor the military. It's wealth.

Mike Tyson thinks that George Zimmerman deserves violent retribution for the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

In an interview with Yahoo News about his upcoming one-man show in Las Vegas, the former heavyweight champion sounded off on the polarizing case:

"My personal feeling is that, as a young kid that was beat on by a bully, that was pretty much singled out—the guy [Zimmerman] stalked him, didn't follow instructions from a superior officer, when they said, 'Stop following the kid.' That tells you everything right there. But my all-around perspective, I wasn't there, I don't know what happened. But it's just so widespread and overt what happened. Even though this is the best country in the world, certain laws in this country are a disgrace to a nation of savages. It's a majority versus a minority. That's the way God planned it. He didn't want to do something about it, He wanted us to do something about it. And if we don't, it's gonna stay this way. We have to continue tweeting, we have to continue marching, we have to continue fighting for Trayvon Martin. If that's not the case, he was killed in vain, and we're just waiting for it to happen to our children. He'll have gotten away with impunity. It's a disgrace that man hasn't been dragged out of his house and tied to a car and taken away. That's the only kind of retribution that people like that understand. It's a disgrace that man hasn't been shot yet. Forget about him being arrested--the fact that he hasn't been shot yet is a disgrace. That's how I feel personally about it."

In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington, a beauty pageant contestant, and served three years in prison.

Why is it that some of you think that they will be riots if the decision isn't sufficient to those who want a guilty verdict or some sort of punishment for Zimmerman? Most I believe will accept what comes out of this case and leave it where the the jury rules.

No you get a fucking clue, you assume that if Z is found guilty all hell will break loose. I don't think so, most people just want him to be tried in front of a jury and leave it at that. I believe they will accept whatever decision will be layed out on this Zimmerman shooting.

BTW he Zimmerman would be better off with what turns out to be a rookie judge, just being in the chair for a only a year and never judged a criminal case. We shall see how this turns out.

This case is like NO OTHER and to lump it in with other cases is a far stretch. People just want to see this man go on trial for the shooting and to say there will be riots if this decision is not guilty is a stretch. People already know this is FLORIDA where I now live and it's going to be an uphill battle just to get a guilty verdict for murder. Remember Casey Anthoney i don't believe they were riots after her case was handed down right there in Orlando...the very same place where this trial will convene. Protests yes, riots hell no.

I do believe he will be found not guilty. If there's riots in Orlando I will not post on this board for a year. Deal. yes.gif

Well, then if there's an inkling of potential violence I'll drive up to Orlando stay at our Hilton time share and get out there to tell these people how does this kind of behavior make things any better? Would Trayvon want this city turned upside down....and i know before me Trayvon's parents would step forward to bring calm to the city. Twelve people on a jury spoke and we need to accept their decision period for whatever it is.

i would say the likelihood of riots is high ... there's a lot of pent up angst - especially amongst the youth ... they are just looking for any reason to let it out ... the vancouver hockey riots last year is a great example ... it was as hockey game but fueled by a big crowd, maybe some drugs and/or booze and look at what happened ... all you need is a little spark ... and trayvon could be that spark ...
