My mom and mother-in-law both sent to ER on the same day!

It's as if they were trying to one-up eachother.
On Monday, my mom was seeing her doctor, who noticed that her heart rate was very high. The doctor sent her to the ER, and it turns out she had a mild heart attack. She is having an angiogram/plasty later today. This is the first time I've ever seen my mom in the hospital. Based on what my family went through with my dad's illness/death last year, it is way too soon for my mom, brother and sister to have to deal with this!
Minutes after my mom called me, my wife called to tell me her mom had fallen, and was taken by ambulance to her local ER. She broke a bone in her arm, and she is still in the hospital in San Diego.
It sucks being a grown-up sometimes!

Well, that was 10 years ago and he's in better shape than I am at this point
I've been told bypass surgery are pretty much routine these days. Obviously surgery is still surgery, but it's not supposed to be the scary thing it used to be.
Thoughts with you and D xx.

After lots of deliberation, they will be doing bypass surgery on my mom this coming tuesday.
She is very small and frail, so they ran a zillion tests to make sure she could withstand the procedure/recovery. The plan kept changing all week long. As of yesterday afternoon, they were scheduled to do the surgery last night, but they were running behind, and the doctors wanted to have a final pow-wow before the decision. The option of forgoing the surgery was presented, and that would have meant my mon would just be treated with medicine. That was a bit of a relief, but the thought of her living her life in constant danger of a heart attack was very unsettling.
And, oh yeah, my mother-in-law is back home, wearing an arm/shoulder brace for a few months. :?
