Last Kiss is the only PJ song I think I actually, "Hate". I never listen to it... if it is on I will actually turn it off. It gives me great joy that Ed seems to fuck this one up all the time. It sucks! lol.
hey just throwing this out there but if anyone is interested in Radiohead and lives in the Boston area. Ticketmaster has some GREAT!!!! and I mean great single seats available right now for tomorrow's show and Monday. Center section, row 20 right in the middle for face value.
Now back to Pearl Jam....Hard to Imagine is wonderful.
not sad at all. i remember 1st time i got crazy mary in atlanta i had the same thing happen. it's always funny when a once rare song like crazy mary ends up becoming a staple set song. kinda like leash is now...
and on that note... i know people are complaining a lot about leash being overplayed. but come on... like the entire pearl jam community was biatching about this for years. would it really be fair to play it once or twice and then no one else gets it live? i saw it in DC and was stoked about it. definately made the 13 hour drive there worth it.
its kinda split 3 ways. you got your stoner kids who worship syd barret era pink floyd. i wouldn't reccomend some of his stuff to a pink floyd beginning listener. get into the 71-79 era of pink floyd 1st with meddle, dark side, wish you were here, animals, and the wall. i love the 67-70 era of piper at the gates of dawn and saucerful of secrets but it takes a ton of listens to really get it lol.
but a lot of syd's solo stuff like octopussy and madcap laughs is relaly awesome. it's kind of like stoner bob dylan singer song writer. most fans prefer the 71-79 era but there is definately that segment of fans who really are more into the syd barret stuff. and in all honesty if it wasn't for syd we wouldn't have had floy to begin with. roger even mentioned him before wish you were here at live 8 which ws way cool.
So, am i getting this right? Syd Barret was the original lead singer? And then David?
I just downloaded Momentary Lapse of Reason, Division Bell, and Animals.

"Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz
i'm beginning to think that's why they play it so often. i mean, there's no other rational explanation.
Ok don't get me wrong but this is just my opinion. If I was a person who happened to by a ticket to PJ and it happened to be behind the stage, remember in Boston '04, when Ed turned around and sang to them. I thought to myself, I would had been disappointed if that was the song they sang to me. It's not a bad song, it's ok. But I am just so sick to death of it.

i mean, yeah exactly. i don't hate the song. but i don't know anyone who doesn't agree that they play it way too much.

first was syd on the piper album, then on the next few releases syd, roger, and richard all sang lead. roger did songs like careful with that axe eugene and richard had songs like see emily play. but syd was still the main guy. then dave joined and the band changed direction. syd at this point was on a huge drug binge and was unreliable at shows so one night on the way to a show they left syd behind at a hotel and he dissapeared for about 10 years and didn't show back up until they were in studio recording wish you were here. he just popped up one day out of the blue and then dissapeared again and they haven't had contact with him at all since the wywh sessions in 1975. so anyway once dave joined it was kind of a free for all for lead singer. everybody but nick has their share of songs they sing but about 75% of them from 1971 to 1983 are either dave or roger. and once roger was out of the picture dave was the total lead singer and richard wright didn't do anymore lead vocals on the newer stuff. and because of that he did his wet dreams solo album but stayed in floyd as well.

When my mother in law asked me to get her the single that's when I threw in the towel.
