Im at the MGM the 7th-10th but I wanna book somewhere else for the 11th and 12th.
Thinking of staying at the Palms or Vdara. Ive never been before so I dont really wanna stay somewhere cheap. Ill spend a little extra for this.

We gonna rip some poker in late night?
I like the MGM alot. You may not want to go anywhere else. Poker is a given though I'm not sure where I'll play. My favorite poker room was The Sahara and that's gone now. The only other place I've played was at The Mirage and I continually get my ass handed to me there.
Hoover Dam is cool to check out. It's about an hour away and I go every time I'm there. Freemont St is cool to get a taste of how Vegas used to be and you can check out the Pawn Stars pawn shop while down there. I would also highly recommend seeing one of the Cirque shows. I've only seen Ka at the MGM and was blown away. Also don't siscount the idea of getting your favorite alcoholic beverage and just going from hotel to hotel and looking around. You'll be blown away. Getting the monorail pass is a good idea for this.
For meal ideas I like the buffet at the Bellagio. You are probably thinking why would I want buffet food? It's not. It's top shelf food just served buffet style. It's 30 bucks a person but well worth it.
I'm so excited for you! There's something for everyone there. Are you more into gambling or drinking or sightseeing or adventure stuff or shopping?
A bunch of the casinos have free shows in front - the Bellagio has the water fountains, the Mirage has the volcano, TI has the pirate show - they all run on every hour and that more often at night if I remember correctly. Wynn's got a pretty cool hologram show inside, Fremont St has the light show and ziplining. You're going to have a blast!

I've stayed at the Mirage and Treasure Island
The Mirage is nice, I always wanted to stay at the Venetian
Not sure how much you want to spend for a room
Edit: The last time I went I stayed at a timeshare pleasanlty surprised the room was hooked up
My drinking team has a hockey problem
The ONLY thing better than a glass of beer is tea with Miss McGill

If you're looking for a super nice place to stay on the strip, I would suggest either Bellagio or the Wynn. I'd have to say that the Wynn is one of the classiest places I've ever stayed, I felt like a millionaire that whole weekend

I am staying at the hilton grand vacation suites at the flamingo.
Any horror stories from there :?
The only thing at that hotel I would say is stay away from the buffet. Not that good at all. There are much better options. When I'm in Vegas I eat once a day so buffets amke sense for me. I could give you some recommendations if you like?

i've stayed at flamingo a bunch of times but not in like 2 years. Pool is fantastic but can get crowded at peak times (late april-may, sept-oct). casino is much smaller than the big places which can be a positive or a negative. can get back to rooms much easier and quicker which i really liked but can get crowded to find a good table on weekend nights. food places are ok but nothing special. agree with the above about the buffet. bars suck other than Margaritaville. location on strip is fantastic though. short (by vegas standards) walk to everywhere. as it is about half the price or a 1/3 of the price of the big places i've found it to be pretty good for my tastes though. can stay there but pretty much enjoy the rest of the strip fairly easily.

My buffets in order starting with best:
Bellagio. This is a must...seriously.
MGM
Rio
Luxor
Since you're going for three days I'll stop at four. I could probably list a dozen or so more but I don't think you'll eat that much.
There's also a pizza joint in the concourse at the MGM connecting the hotel to the monorail that had some of the most amazing pie I have ever had. I'll try and dig up the name.
Took a picture of the place it was so amazing! I do remember though for two slices it was over ten bucks.

Have fun and if you have questions you can always PM me. I don't know everything about Las Vegas but I think I know enough to be dangerous. If you do choose to check Hoover Dam out stop on the way back at Green Valley Ranch. They have a great buffet too!
We talked about doing that but decided since it was a guys trip we would just stick with pure debauchery
casino's, pools, bars, strip clubs, and other such vices
i think i can slide a buffet or two in there

OK. Check out the entrance to the Excalibur across the pedestrian bridge from New York New York. It's hooker central.
