It will never be phased out because this game is REALLY about the NFL giving a reward to the players and mostly their FAMILIES. It's not about the game, it's all about fun for the players families in Hawaii.

Correction...I was raised to blindly follow the Bears but never really followed football at all. Once I made a point to get into the game and understand it, I realized that the Packers were my team. It's kinda like being raised with certain religious beliefs and as you get older you understand that it was all a bunch of bullhonky!

Yeah, it was tough to follow them back then. I had to constantly reset history by winning the Tecmo Bowl with them approximately 564 times ... which wasn't easy considering Jack Trudeau lobbed wounded ducks and I was stuck with a copy that had Albert Bentley instead of Eric Dickerson at RB. :evil:

Maybe if Jay Cutler was as competitive as Rodgers the Bears would actually make the playoffs.
If Jay Cutler was the one who said it then the OP never would have started this thread :roll: I get hating a team and it's players because of the rivalry but hating everything that comes out of their mouth just because it's them that says it is just dumb......for example if Rodgers would have said the exact opposite, that the players shouldn't try so hard in case they get injured, we would still have this thread with the same exact title just because Rodgers said it.......................My opinion on the topic is that he should have kept his mouth shut, honestly, he's right for the most part but that doesn't mean it was a smart thing to say. Odds are that he thought the same thing 2 years ago when he started but he didn't say anything like that probably because he was more humble then, now that he's one of the top dogs he thinks he can say whatever he wants. Hopefully watching someone else raise the Lombardi trophy over their head this Sunday will bring him back to earth a little bit.
Rodgers is a doucher, but the Pro Bowl was pretty pathetic. Even more than usual. The only way it's ever gonna change is if few enough people watch it that big sponsors pull out and it loses it's tv deal.
Honestly though, I don't see why they can't put a little more effort into it. There's already several rule changes that make the Pro Bowl safer.
The effort is relative to the amount of money these guys get. Give them bigger bonuses for making it and winning it, and have some sort of insurance for the player and team in place if someone suffers a big injury.
