Jack White Solo Album Drops On 04/23!!!

    I think it's a great record. Alot of nice music, catchy guitar licks, awesome Jack lyrics and nice piano hooks. But I still prefer the Raconteurs album over it.

    I agree. I love Horehound but this one....it's a jewel from beginning to end. I cannot wait to see him next Monday!!!

    While I think it's a very good album, I don't think it compares to his first four albums with the White Stripes: The White Stripes, De Stijl, White Blood Cells and Elephant.
    I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

    The album is fantastic, but I think Jack was a listening to Jerry Lee Lewis a bit too much. I love the piano and Jack uses it wonderfully on this record, it just needed more Sixteen Saltines.

    I love how layered and textured it is. He could have done variations on Sixteen Saltines (song that kicks 20 kinds of ass) and it would have been a great album. But the fact he took chances, really mixed it up....I just love it. There are albums that take some time to grow, and then others that you know you love immediately. Happy to say the latter applied here for me :)

    that's the thing: His music is so amazing it's hard to choose an absolute favorite. I love this record. It's fantastic! :P
    Love: Blunderbuss, and hypocritical Kiss. Been listening to those two religiously today

    Album does have more of a white stripes feel to it, (Like GBMS), feel then his other stuff. I got no problem with that! 8-)

    Vinyl arrived in a wet and rainy New Forest this morning. Echoing the general view - it's great!! Sounds amazing on vinyl as well.

    Some other very cool touches - packaging is great - nice gatefold pic, vinyl is heavy weight variety and there is a download code to get an MP3 version for the car. Jack White is a class act!

    I am actually surprised there are not guitar solos all over this album. I am even more surprised that I am fine with this.

    Completely agree, I don't think I even noticed this until about my third listen through. Doesn't bother me at all, such a great album

    I'm sure one day in the future he will release an album that is so over the top with guitar solos taking up more time than the verses and choruses. At least I hope so :).

    I would start with this album since its his first solo and then I would listen to all The White Stripes albums staright through.
