Quite simply, the most amazing crowd PJ has played to. Anyone who thinks the crowd makes no difference to their enjoyment of the show hasn't listened to the boot to this show, or seen the vids of the second night. Talking to the people who were there then, and it's apparent that not even the extreme crowd loudness on the boots have done justice to the fans. You put this on, and can't help but feel humbled about how the crowd at your 1 show (or 140) sounds positively shite compared to the one there that night.

The setlist and show length aren't the focus here. It's all about what a rabid crowd can bring to a show.

Even Ed said they should be paying the crowd for coming to the show.

Yeah, I would have to agree. Part of the experience being the essence of the fans, this would be the one to showcase from a non-English speaking crowd, or any crowd for that matter really. Pretty average setlist but an insanely loud and appreciative crowd.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

The audience recording that has been circulating for years of this show isn't that good so here's a boot I made that sounds a little better. Three tracks are the Oceans B-sides (Why Go, Alive, Deep) and the rest are clips from youtube (which are from a Dutch TV broadcast) that I converted to mp3. those tracks are in mono because all youtube clips are in mono. hit it up.

oh yeah, the first song, Evenflow, is cut and begins as the guitar solo is ending. I never said it was going to be pretty. but the rest is really good and light years better than the boot of this show that I've heard.

    06/08/92 - Pinkpop Festival: Landgraaf, Netherlands [45m]
    Attendance: 60,000
Set: Even Flow, Why Go, Jeremy, Deep, Alive, Black, Leash, Once, Porch, Suggestion/Pulled Up, Rockin' in the Free World
Notes: PJ's largest live audience to date. Show was broadcast on Dutch TV. 'Pulled Up' is a Talking Heads cover, perhaps a mini-tribute to David Byrne, who also played at this festival. Awesome versions of 'Alive' and 'RitFW.'

The audience recording that has been circulating for years of this show isn't that good but the telecast of it that appears on youtube is much better. I converted those videos to mp3 and decided to make a little boot out of it.

um...oh yeah. the first song Evenflow starts at the last chorus and fourth song Deep is totally missing but it's on the b-side of Oceans if you want it...as are Alive and Why Go from this show.

Worth checking while you wait for your '08 boots to come. hell that's why I took the time to make it...to pass the time.

    attendance: 60,000
set: Even Flow, Why Go, (Rain)/Jeremy, Deep, Alive, Black, Leash, Once, Porch, Suggestion/Pulled Up, Rockin' in the Free World
notes: PJ's largest live audience yet. Show was broadcast on Dutch TV. 'Rain' is a Beatles tune. 'Pulled Up' is a Talking Heads cover, perhaps a mini-tribute to David Byrne, who also played at this festival. Awesome versions of 'Alive' and 'RitFW.'

Yo I edited my last post and re-uploaded the show to include the song that was missing (Deep) and added some higher quality versions of Why Go and Alive. It's a different megaupload link than the one you have quoted here if you want to try that out.

    Fantastic.

Its unbelievable that the famed State College night was the following night.

    Just listening to it.
WHAT A SHOW! Absolutely a must-have, for different reasons.
    LBC as opener is perfect.
The original "slowbeat" of the oldies (listen to EvenFlow and Alive) that gives such a pathos to them -how I miss that way to play them...-
    Driven to Tears...

But mostly, the band seems really concentrate and aggressive in every song...and Vedder is definitely the master of the night: probably one of his best perfomances ever.
    Try listen!

    unique setlist, literally

The main set is unique in the sense that with exeption of opener Wash, Non album track I Got Id and closer Porch the song selection is 2 of each consecutive album released to this date.

Great show - makes me think about Adelaide II 2006. That setlist is a rollercoaster ride in Pearl Jam history. Throw your hatred down and last encore are sweet.

(I can´t help it but I also really love Adelaide I. My favorite version af Sad)

    Also love to Copenhagen 2007
Run away my son. See it all. Oh see the world.

Dude, thank you so much for offering up these shows!!! I downloaded the Torino, Italy show since I enjoy the shows that have a unique reason for being special and didn't even know they had played Avocado in its entirety in a single show before. I knew they played every song on Avocado during the SF run, but that was over the course of three nights. So thanks for hooking me up with a excellent show to listen to...those European crowds never disappoint!!

Happy Birthday and may good things shine upon you brutha!

    Peace on ya..

wicked show, the band were on top form too, especially like the extended jam on RVM.

There's an ending to Black that I've never heard before, not sure if they've tagged some other song or what, but Ed's voice soars with heavenly power during it. If it's an improv then the show falls into epic category methinks.
    Can anyone confirm?

great thread, I'd been looking for the Poland 00 boot for ages. Thanks!
  • First of all this thread is absolutely friggin' amazing!!!
Re-Listening to these classics, in this superior quality has been incredible, thank you.
Here are some suggestions for shows I think easily fall into the categories of either Epic/Memorial or Unforgettable, I think all of these are either soundboards or radio broadcasts and all of these would be possitively sick sounding in a 320 format.

Thank you, thank you, a million thanks in advance!
