OK, I had no problem with extracting the files and stuff using WinRar, but my mp3 player says it cannot play this type of file. Am I an idiot for expecting my mp3 player to, you know, play mp3s?
I don't have an iPod, I have a Sony mp3 player, but I've never had this problem before. Is there anything I can do to the files to get them to play?
which show did you try to get? I have a little experience working with audio. I can try to get the same one and if I can figure out how to get it to work I'll tell you how.

LeatherMosquitoMan - this is a great idea for a thread. There's a couple shows I hadn't listened to in awhile (Randall's Island '96) and a couple that I had never heard before (Buffalo '03).
My suggestion is Katowice II from 2000. Here's the description from TFT.
06/16/00 - Spodek: Katowice, Poland [145m]
attendance: 3,000 (capacity 8,000)
support act: Dismemberment Plan
set: Release, Of The Girl, Sleight of Hand, Thin Air, Insignificance, Grievance, Corduroy, Animal, Hail Hail, State of Love and Trust, Evacuation, Daughter/(ABitW)/(On a Rope), Jeremy, I Got Shit, Light Years, Leatherman, In Hiding, Off He Goes, Dissident, MFC, Habit, Alive
enc: Smile, Immortality, Black, Leaving Here, Soldier of Love, Last Exit, Soon Forget, Yellow Ledbetter
notes: b]This date was originally scheduled for the Petiofi Csarnock in Budapest, Hungary.[/b Those who showed a ticket stub from the previous night's show could buy a ticket to the second show at half price! The whole band is in a great mood, smiling throughout the show. A special atmosphere is created from the very beginning of the show, making it feel like they are playing right in your living room. Ed fucks up the lyrics and starts directly with "Oh dear dad, can you see me now...", making 'Release' a very short song but still very intense. 'Of The Girl' and then two more slow songs follow, introduced with, "We'll try and take it easy tonight. Let's get through the pretty ones first..." After each song the band gathers in the middle of the stage and discusses what they will play next. Eddie keeps the other band members from changing their instruments a few times. Mike seems to be very tired and introverted during the first few songs, but still interacts very much with the crowd in front of him. Ed catches a bouquet with a note. He reads it and says, "Oh, they're from a guy" -- 'I'll meet you the show.'" He rips the petals off the flowers during 'Sleight of Hand' while the stage is bathed in blue light. The crowd is hypnotized witnessing something special happening on stage as it seemed like they would go on with slow songs forever but then they changed hitting with five unbelievable rocking tracks in a row !!! Ed dons a gas mask during 'Daughter' (hey, it was only a matter of time). 'Daughter' is breathtaking with Mike playing some short riffs from 'Another Brick in the Wall' throughout the whole song. When Ed starts singing the verse, everyone joins in with Ed encouraging them by pointing at his ear several times. He sings, "The shades go down..." through a gas mask that was thrown on stage by a fan. 'On a Rope' is a Rocket From The Crypt song. Ed omits out the first chorus of 'Jeremy' like the "new" version played on previous tours. He introduces 'Light Years' with, "This song is about ... well, you know what it is about. It means a lot to me and I hope that it means a lot to you as well." After the song he adds, "The next song is also about a dead guy," and then they start 'Leatherman.' Before 'Off He Goes' Ed says, "That's a little song about friendship. About a friend that is an asshole". Then he points his finger at himself saying quietly that he is an asshole. The audience responds: "Noooooo!". Ed catches a t-shirt during 'Alive' and blindfolds his eyes with it throughout half the song. Mike catches a rose and attaches it to his guitar. The audience yells "Smile, smile" between the songs, and they play it as the encore opener. 'Black' and 'Immortality' are just magical, first with Ed burning the cork of his wine bottle and painting his face and arms with it and then the whole band lining up in front of Matt during the end of 'Immortality,' letting everyone see what a great time they are having and how much they still enjoy playing music together. After 'Soldier of Love,' the audience does the "cha-cha-cha" thing from the single and it makes Ed laugh. Ed manages to convince every fan to be silent during 'Soon Forget,' although they start quietly singing along with Ed. Mike tags some of Van Halen's 'Dance the Night Away' onto 'YL.' Ed takes the usual polaroids of the first row and takes one picture of himself which he throws off the stage right in the hand of some lucky fan. The setlist was modified as they played this amazing show.

I'm gonna put in one more call for Boston (Great Woods) II '98 - no one else is gonna call that one ledgendary?
although at a certain point, there can't be more than 25 or so "ledgendary/epic" shows, by definition...
maybe we should start a seperate thread, the "really great, not quite ledgendary but underappreciated shows" list like Barcelona '96, St. Louis '98, Jones Beach III '00, Champaign '03, Honolulu '06, and almost any show in September of '98.
then maybe there should be the "best sleeper / out of the blue crazy good shows that few people talk about" like Buffalo '96, Park City '98, Saratoga '00, Noblesville '03 and Detroit '06.
there are a ton of others, these are just some of my faves

I'm sorry, I really don't know much about downloading but I have always wanted the unplugged bootleg so bad (and many others that are available). Can somebody help me?
So I downloaded the WinRAR and the Megaupload and they are on my desktop (like people have said to do). Now what should I do? If I click the link again the megaupload page comes back up and I can't save it or anything.
Any help would be so appreciated!!! Thanks for doing this!!!!

If your using iTunes convert it to ACC(write click, convert to ACC) then add it to a playlist and burn to a disc
alsooooooooooo lets get some love for Copenhagen '07, is an explanation really needed
I'm gonna throw my vote for this show. Not only was it a great show, it commemorates the first anniversary of Johnny Ramone's passing and Eddie sings to him on a few songs (I remember Release and Yellow Ledbetter... perhaps others). Also has a great setlist and a great organ and guitar battle on Crazy Mary!

Thanks alot. I was able to get the whole concert to play. I just dragged the songs from the winrar, to my desktop, and then to my media-window player. Its a process, but REALLY WORTH IT.
LeatherMosquitoMan, THANKS for these shows. I know i appreciate it.
Just d/l this one and it's awesome. I didn't have it. Thanks!
Orpheum Theater, Boston, Massachusetts - April 12th 1994
Fucking Amazing setlist!! It really does speak for itself! Dirty Frank? Alone? Release in an Encore? Not closing w/YL? I believe a crew member wrote this setlist. This is the 3rd show in a 3-night stand in Boston, and the only show at the Orpheum. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4NVOAZ8S
Set 1 Oceans, Even Flow, Sonic Reducer, State Of Love And Trust, Hard To Imagine, Immortality/(Hey Hey My My), Go, Animal, Glorified G, Daughter/(Suck You Dry), Alone, Not For You, Better Man, Rats, Blood
Encore 1 Release, Tremor Christ, Once, Fuckin' Up, Dirty Frank, Yellow Ledbetter, Jam, Rearviewmirror, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, I've Got a Feeling
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
I know it's up there already, but Newcastle is the benchmark by which I measure all other shows in terms of my enjoyment.
Like, ahh, yeah, Copenhagen is about 90% of Newy. Dusseldorf, from what I remember, is like 85. Tokyo 03? 70, I'd say.

I think E Ruth II from '06 is worthy of being included. But I was there so of course I'm biased.
For shows I was not at, I would nominate Osaka and Champaign from '03. Great sound and setlists on both. Champaign has great spirit and cool covers.
Thanks again LMM!

Quite simply, the most amazing crowd PJ has played to. Anyone who thinks the crowd makes no difference to their enjoyment of the show hasn't listened to the boot to this show, or seen the vids of the second night. Talking to the people who were there then, and it's apparent that not even the extreme crowd loudness on the boots have done justice to the fans. You put this on, and can't help but feel humbled about how the crowd at your 1 show (or 140) sounds positively shite compared to the one there that night.
The setlist and show length aren't the focus here. It's all about what a rabid crowd can bring to a show.
Even Ed said they should be paying the crowd for coming to the show.

well get on it, bitch!!!!
just kidding. you're the man. each morning since Friday I go downstairs and put on a different boot (this mornig was the 07 Chicago show for ten club members). My wifes like how many times can you listen to that?!!!
I go they're live so each ones a bit different. she loves PJ but she's not a music nut like I am.
LMM,
thanks again for Uniondale, NY 03. I think that version of even flow is one of the best lives ones I've heard.

I think in addition to downloading all of these boots, a good project will be to identify which performances of each song are the best among all of the memorable and epic shows. maybe that's an idea for a seperate thread. to see what peoples opinions are. that would be one hell of a live compilation. for example. I would iclude Even Flow from Uniondale 03. but that could change since i don't have them all yet.

Any help would be so appreciated!!! Thanks for doing this!!!!

Thanks alot. I was able to get the whole concert to play. I just dragged the songs from the winrar, to my desktop, and then to my media-window player. Its a process, but REALLY WORTH IT.
LeatherMosquitoMan, THANKS for these shows. I know i appreciate it.

Drop drop dropping it down...oh so gently...
Well here it comes...I touch the plane...
Turn me up...won't turn you away...
I haven't heard about this happening to anyone else...
Try downloading Disc 3 again...
