I genuinely don’t get comparing covid to your average run of the mill injuries or issues that teams deal with year in & year out.

Typical NFL injuries don’t shut down team facilities forcing them to miss practices, workouts, PT, team meetings etc. Typical NFL injuries don’t have the potential to spread from player to player just by being in their presence, or like in Denver’s case seeing all 3 QBs land in mandatory quarantine. I don’t refute they brought it on themselves, but regardless it’s one of many unique circumstances that wouldn’t have happened in any other year.

Yes, whomever wins the super bowl will forever be the 2020 champ, and hopefully no playoff games or team rosters are significantly impacted by covid in the postseason.

My “fake season” comment was more than a little tongue in cheek. Those guys are out there busting their asses just as hard as they do in any other year and I’m enjoying the (good) games. But this year is like no other year this league has ever seen, and the inconsistent impact the pandemic has had on teams can’t be overlooked.
    Fake season. Never happened.

On top of everything else you mentioned--- no fans. Or hardly any fans. It's just a big ol' asterisk in this guy's book.

Oh yeah no more Thursday night football this season
    Yes there is.
Tonight's game was moved to Tuesday cause its Cowboys/Ravens and Ravens just played yesterday cause they aren't the Broncos and the league will capitulate to them.
    Patriots/Rams is next Thursday.
    This weekend we rock Portland

I'd prob go Raiders since the Jets are an absolute joke.  Vikings have been better lately but it wouldn't be shocking if they lost.
  • Would go Vikes but they kinda suck depending on the week.  Go with your gut.  If you are still alive at this late point of the season you have done a great job!!!

(I feel Jets are going to win one of these games coming down the stretch)

    The Jets stand no chance.

I think you need to weigh in on the next couple weeks and if you need/can use the Jets, or if you want to risk saving them for next week.

Not many teams have gone without at least a single win....tough to predict who they could possibly win against (ha!) but I think it would be funny if it were that insufferable Chucky who lost to them.

    I'd go Vikings.
West coast teams playing at 1:00 Eastern usually don't fare well.
Just look at last Sunday, Raiders lost (got smoked) in Hotlanta, Chargers lost in Beefalo and Cardinals lost in Foxborough.
Plus Raiders have had to fly from LV to Atlanta then back to Vegas, then to NYC in an 8 day span.
    This weekend we rock Portland
  • Thanks for the input guys. I ended up going with Seattle over NYG at home. I could see both the Vikings/Raiders losing today. Titans at Jags next week most likely.

If the Jets win they won't get the #1 pick if both them and the Jags end 1-15

  • Has anyone else noticed that most of the games seem more chippy than usual? Maybe more younger guys playing and a lack of veteran discipline? Or just more “in your face showboating?” Tyreek Hill’s stopping at the one and back flipping into the end zone was a benchable offense. And yes, I’m back flipping shaming.

Ha.  That was crazy.  I like the crazy camera at the point - it is silly to watch the guys run 50 yards to pose but it makes me laugh and of usually a team thing.  I hate Hill anyway so am predisposed to dislike the taunting.  Were I a defense back I would smear that fucker.  However I would likely also be watching him run by me since he is a fast piece of shit

Kind of ironic a Patriots fan talking about behavior and integrity isn't it?  The NFL putting the screens for the players to run to after every big play isn't helping but that was put there because of no fans.

I have always liked showboating.  Never could figure out why the NFL waged such a pointless war against it for so long.
  • They should allow the team celebrations, I think.  Now, there is always a limit to things and it can be tough to see where that might be, at times.
Pretty sure that stopping short of the end zone and waiting....then entering in a wild way is past that, at least to me
As stated, I can't fucking stand that woman and child beater Hill so I am biased against him already.
I have liked the group celebrations going back to the 80a.
