Yeah I mean everyone is beatable.  To say the Seahawks are pretenders, I take issue with.  Russell Wilson was being Russell Wilson on the game-winning drive last night.  For the Chiefs, the Raiders knocked some shine off of them and now they have Buffalo next Monday.  That will be a tough bounce-back game against a team that is trending upward.  I haven't watched any of Pittsburgh this year, but their defense is as good as any and Big Ben depending on how much he has left in the tank can probably still manage the game well-enough to beat the teams they should beat.  They have a tough ride in their own division with the Ravens and a Browns team that may finally be getting out of their own way.

KC has had some shine knocked off them for three straight weeks.

Chargers the week before... my bad.
  • One thing I do know....my favorite 49ers are complete dogshit with no corners and no dline.
They can blame Jimmy and his bum ankle all they want, when you cannot pressure the qb and you cannot cover anyone, your safeties and your LBs can't save you.
That shit is ugly right now.

Also, I do not like the Seahawks but if Pete can figure out how to fix their defense they can win it all.  For sure are contenders with Russ playing all world and DJ the beast at wr.

  • KC, Seattle and Pittsburgh are pretenders. It’ll be interesting to see what Buffalo musters but me thinks they’ll be fine.
Allen has made a huge leap. He still seems a little reckless and sloppy to me. It's Buffalo, so I refuse to get excited.

Rough game.  It looked like the Bills didnt want to be there.  Defense was hell without White and Milano

That has to be an interesting dichotomy for you.  You're a USC fan, but a SF fan who admittedly hates the Seahawks.  Did you or do you like and respect Carroll?

It goes far beyond what his football teams did.  The Pete is an amazing person.

Yes, I cannot stand the Sea Chickens.
(Wilson and Metcalf are both players I love watching )

I also hate the ground Jim Harbaugh stands on, but I went to the Super Bowl the year he took the team there.  Was glad to be able to start hating him again when he left.

As if other big programs weren't incentivizing recruits to go there.  Their success is incredible in my eyes.  I had forgotten how dominant they were in the 2000's until I went and looked up Carroll's record at USC.  I wonder if he had stayed if his program would hold water against the SEC power houses.

Tough to tell....the SEC is a monster.
We had access to premium level recruits and that is what it takes to arm a good coaching staff and program with what it takes.

Apparently all false positives in Indy.

However another player positive in Foxboro and awaiting confirmation of possibly one more, so Patriots have now shut down facility again.

The season's f'ed. They can't postpone another game for either of these teams and fit it into the 17 week schedule. Adding an 18th week & postponing the playoffs will only work if no one else tests positive between now & then (meaning it almost certainly won't work).

  • What to root for in the afternoon game showing here....Packers and Bucs.

I've got a question for anyone who would like to discuss.  Romeo Crennel goes for 2 up seven late in regulation against the Titans.  Are you for or against that decision?

As a Titans fan, I love the decision.

I'm actually kinda for it. Low-risk, high reward. If you get it, that changes everything (being up 9 versus being up 8). If you don't, eh, being up 7 isn't all that different than being up 8. Rich Gannon was completely the opposite on the broadcast though.

On the flipside, when you're DOWN, I'm against going for two until you have to. For example, if you were down 15 and scored a TD, I say you kick the extra point and be down 8. It was always like this, but lately, coaches have begun changing their tune on it. I think due to analytics or something. There's an argument for and against it...

FOR: Well you have to go for two eventually, why not do it now? If you miss it, and are down 9, and at least you know from early on that you need two scores. And now, with onside kicks nearly impossible to recover, if you wait until your final possession to for two, and miss it, you're probably doomed.

AGAINST: From a mentality standpoint, both for the team and the fan, don't you prefer to just be down 8? If you're down 8 with 3 minutes to go, you feel good about things. If you're down 9 with three minutes to go (especially with how onside kicks are now), you feel kind of hopeless.

I prefer the latter. Be down 8 on your final possession, go on a drive and hopefully score a TD, and have your absolute best play ready for the two point conversion (in other words, don't run whatever the hell the Eagles tried to run yesterday against the Ravens).
