Oh goodness. So other people aren't allowed to make excuses but when the Patriots lose its the refs fault? Glorious.

That's all fine and good, but Eli never lost to Brady in the Super Bowl.
  • Good for Eli, power to him. If you watched the undefeated season Super Bowl, you cannot say there were not questionable calls. I'm not using it as an excuse as much as to point out the fact that there were. Like I said, I've moved on and the Pats are 1-1 in Super Bowls since. But Eli in the grasp and the fumble when the Pats player was on his back under a pile for 10 seconds are just two that come to mind from that game as well as the ghost holding calls that were called against the Pats. I believe the NFL, in protecting their mystique, didn't want the Pats to go undefeated, particularly after the spy gate allegations.

I'll ask again, what's the contrived controversy going to be as this season progresses and the Pats continue to win? Way too much money sloshing around in and around the NFL for there not to be. The NFL is the new WWF. But I still like to watch and root for my team.

The NFL is a joke, a three-ring circus led by Roger the Clown. I'll never spend another dime on the league.

there is no controversy. they are cheaters...convicted...twice. it's not like getting into an ARD program and the label is wiped clean after you serve your time. once a felon it always stays on your record. once disciplined for cheating always a cheater.

Tell that to cliffy and aroid. Did they cheat last year? Against the hawks? Or the colts? Dallas? Buffalo? Wah, wah, wah. And no other team or player in nfl history ever cheated. Not even a little?

Glorious. The only reason the Giants won is because the league is literally rigged.

The team rolls on even after multiple sacks on Brady in the first half. Adjustments made (the good teams do that) and I believe no sacks in the second half. Unfortunately I went to sleep after the first quarter but I knew this game was not going to be close. The team rolls on, whose next.....?

But I still like to watch and root for my team.

there is no controversy. they are cheaters...convicted...twice. it's not like getting into an ARD program and the label is wiped clean after you serve your time. once a felon it always stays on your record. once disciplined for cheating always a cheater.

Good for Eli, power to him. If you watched the undefeated season Super Bowl, you cannot say there were not questionable calls. Glorious. The only reason the Giants won is because the league is literally rigged.
this is awesome. so the league is fixed...except of course when the Pats win???? gotta love that logic. #patsfanslogic

No, the reason both times the Patriots lost was that they were simply out played by the Giants. Especially, defensively and many times that's the root to victory in the big games. That said, I hope the Patriots continue to keep that chip no a cinder block on their shoulders and kick ass.

It would be too ironic to see Goodell hand Brady or Kraft that 50th Lombardy Trophy. Then watch Brady stare Goodell off the stage....that would be too funny. I hope that scenario can come to pass.

no ironic would be Goddell going to federal court so he didn't have to give the trophy to them.

Dude, you've been on the Pats bandwagon for a good year now, at least on here. It's at the point where it's more than just hoping them winning will piss people off. I also find it mildly ironic that you are the person who started the fraud thread to call other people out.

I've liked the patriots for years, actually.

and since the eagles and pats have no rivalry to speak of, I don't think it's fraudulent. but i'm always open to that discussion.

do you feel like you have to hate diamondbacks because of 2001? or the ravens for the 2000 sb?

I don't think it has to do with that at all, though I don't like either of those teams.

I'd view it the same way you look at someone who likes the late 90's Yankees but didn't like them before that.

hmmm. interesting take. I know hawks is always irrationally angry at me for the rivalry reason which is laughable to me. there is zero rivalry between the two teams. none.

i disagree with you because the yankees and lakers and cowboys etc are bandwagon teams that people gravitate to because it's popular to be fans of those teams. I think the pats are kind of anti those teams. just look at all the vitriol people have towards them in here. and it's not like I have a brady jersey or have my car littered with pats bumper stickers. i'm a birds fan first and foremost, obviously.

I just respect their greatness and ability to win year in, year out, while constantly changing their lineups and schemes on an almost weekly basis, especially in salary cap era. as a fan of the sport, they are fascinating to watch. they're an organization I want the eagles to be at some point down the road........well that, and they are the team I have easily made the most money on gambling over the years--including sunday. that was easy money.

Every team that wins has bandwagon fans. Patriots as well. Also the Yankees and A-Rod are hated more than the Pats or Brady. Heck even Eli is hated more than Brady even by his own team's fans

when did i ever say it was a rivalry? I just don't get any Eagles fan liking the Pats of hoping they win. Bottom line is there is a chance they cheated us out a Super Bowl and their owner, coach and QB are 3 extremely unlikable human beings. As Cliffy said from a guy who started a fraud fan thread and loves to call people out for their fandom I have to call Fraud on you and the Pats. sorry i don't get it.

the sad part about the Pats, Bellichek and Tom Brady is with Tom Brady at QB they probably don't need to do the underhanded things they do to consistently win yet they still do it. They would probably win just as much if they weren't cheaters but some people are just bad humn beings. I respect Tom Brady as a QB. Maybe the best ever but I've lost all respect for Bellichek and Brady as human beings and as sportsmen. I don't understand anyone outside of Pats fans wanting them to win.

I think it's actually more bandwagony and fashionable to hate the patriots. the last 9 months have kind of proven that, don't you think? the american people, god love them, were out for blood, and doggonnit, ol' roger goodel was hell bent on giving it to 'em!
