Is this true? I think the AFC East is the worst division after having watched that Jets-Bills game. Wouldn't all 4 NFC East teams beat the bejesus out of those two? Then a few would take a pretty down New England and up and coming Miami (up and coming for the AFC East that is). Either way it's funny to see two of what's usually the best divisions in football suck...

the dolphins might win the the division if they were in the nfc east.
possible. but to say the afc east is worse than the NFC east is a stretch. any division that tom Brady is in can't be considered the worst. the pats have at least 10 games every year since like 2002. 8-8/9-7 win the NFC east every year.

Jacoby Jones was hit over the head with a bottle of champagne ... on a bus ... that was wielded by a stripper.

I love how the NFL is suing M.I.A. for flipping the bird during the halftime show to protect thier wholesome image.

the Pats win 10 games every year because 6 of them come against the dolphins, jets and bills. even matt cassell can go 11-5 against a division like that. anyway wouldn't everyone but the pats in the AFC East trade their QB for any NFC East QB - even at a moment when it looks like Tony Romo is having the best season of the 4? Maybe I'm wrong, but Tannehill, Manuel, and Smith don't exactly strike fear in the hearts of opponents.

I put this in the Eagles thread but it deserves to be here also.

Fucking Manning has the balls to thank the NFL for giving the Eagles 12 days off while they're on a short week. Hey asshole, we played 3 games in 11 days. Fuck off choke artist.

Never said the Eagles weren't choke artists and that wasn't the point of the post.

That and I'm guessing Manning said it in an obviously joking manner. Dude only complains about idiot kickers and when receivers or rb's run a play wrong. The best QB going has the right to complain about anything he wants, but Manning isn't a big whiner

This was my prediction prior to week 1 as well. A Manning/Brees rematch would be amazing. My money would be on the Broncos this time.

by my count it's 3 super bowls and 2 afc championships.

you just have a thing for this team. put them in the nfc east and they have similiar results. there's a lot of bad divisions in the nfl.

I am not a patriots fan at all. but put them in the NFC central, the afc west, hell put them in a division with the 3 best teams in the nfl every year and they still win.

oh i see what you're saying...i was talking post-2005. the part where they've lost to mark sanchez, jake plummer, eli manning twice, and joe flacco twice, and didn't make the playoffs once but still went 11-5.

the Patriots have benefitted a great deal from playing the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins 6x a season.

Not only is it a free division championship every year, it gets them enough wins where they usually leverage a bye and a home playoff game.

The Patriots have drafted poorly over the past 6-7 years and let too much talent walk. They skate on this due to the inability of the other 3 teams to compete. The Jets almost put in a claim, but were a house of cards.

I still think you have to give them some credit though. Those other teams COULD be good, it's not the Patriots fault they suck. As has been discussed, the NFC East has been the armpit of the league for a while, but nobody (at least that I've seen) gives NYG shit for beating up on them and going deep in the playoffs in past years. Though they don't look like they're going to beat up on anybody this year. But when Dallas likely makes the playoffs this year, other than the few talking heads who will say it just to fill time on ESPN, I doubt people will be up in arms over them winning such a bad division.

As a Cowboy fan I laugh when people are just handing this division to us after three weeks - the Cowboys are fucking awful. Plus, because it is Dallas, if they win the division talking heads will be sure to talk about how much we suck and got lucky to win the division, and the Pats will get a pass despite the fact that they were thinking of holding open tryout for WR on the Pearl Jam message board. However, regarding the NFC East, the first year the Giants won the Super Bowl they weren't the best team in their division and beat Dallas (13-3) and the Pats (18-0) to win it all, and the second they went through the Packers and Pats again so it's not exactly a sign that their divisional opponents didn't prepare them for the playoffs. And they always have to go the hard way to do it. The Pats go 12-4, get a bye, then lose.

I didn't give them the lock or anything, and I'm WELL aware of how awful they are (in spite of how the Dallas media talks them up, like pretending the Rams were some fantastic team), but they look pretty good to win the division this year just based on how awful everybody else looks. NYG have been known to come on late, but they seem to have bigger issues this year than in the past, so I'm skeptical of that happening. I didn't hand Dallas anything, but you have to admit that the way the rest of the division looks, if they can just keep it together and stay above .500 they have a really good shot. Philadelphia is in the middle of a tailspin that goes back several seasons, RG3 isn't 100% and if you listen to Aikman never will be, and NYG have a boatload of issues. As does Dallas still, but since Dallas has already beat NYG once, things are looking pretty bright. Philadelphia loves to play spoiler though, so you never know. Even at their worst, they manage to give Dallas a game.

My point about Dallas was mainly that IF they win the division, people won't be hating them for coming out of a bad division, they'll be "underdogs", as opposed to skating by like people say about the Patriots.

2 super bowl appearances post 2005. how many other teams can make that claim? only the steelers and gmen.

they can't be a team for the ages every single year. they're still damn good, year in, year out though. i would kill for the pats kind of success in philadelphia.
