Anyway.. I don't think it's completely out of question to bring a kid to a show, you just have to be prepared to leave as soon as they get bored/anxious.I'm still out here waiting

I've never understood the idea of taking small children (especially babies) to a concert. Are there no events that are designated purely for adults only anymore? I have an 8 year old and I still haven't brought her with me to a show, because I view shows as "my time" to be myself and get lost in the music. It's impossible to focus on the performance when you're constantly worried about your little one AND trying to keep them quiet in consideration for other fans. Do whatever you can to get a sitter.0

Go for it.
If she starts getting a little cranky, just take her towards the back for a bit.
If the house rules don't state no under 16's etc... then what's the problem.
You're never gonna get complete silence at a gig.
If your little girl is well behaved then you'll be fine.
Don't be put off. Have fun!
now for the onslaught.
See I expected to get a few more comments like this. I don't think it would be the train wreck that people think, maybe I just have too much confidence in my daughter. She is the best after all. If she acted up, of course we'd take her out into the hall instead of ruining it for everyone else. She is a big music fan, since we don't like her watching TV we pretty much have music going whenever we're at home and she sings and dances and LOVES it. In fact she's starting a music class for toddlers today. That said, we're not going to try it because I would hate to spend all that money for travel and hotel and then have to miss half the show attending to my toddler. Can't wait till this summer to take her to Bumbershoot though! Thanks for the opinions guys, it was an honest question and after deliberating and reading your responses I think it's just not worth the risk.
And for those who said "get a babysitter" that is not an option. I'm not going to leave my daughter with someone I've never met in a city I've never been in. I'd feel much more comfortable taking her to the show! It was either take her or miss the show. We will have to miss the show :(
Thats a shame. Was hoping not too many people would put you off
PJ are clearly baby friendly. They sell kids gear in the goods section
But yeah... Boooo to you lot for having a whinge. Wheres the love.29/05/2000

At the Bridge School in 2010... when Pearl Jam played... me and a friend were trying to traverse our way across the muddy lawn area to hit the heads and get something to eat. Some lady yelled at us because she said we were disturbing her baby... and it was a baby!!!... who was trying to sleep.
Mind you... this was the Saturday... at the Bridge School Benefit... in the Bay Area... in October... were it was rainning/drizzling all day... non-stop... from 11:00 A.M. to around mid-night... on the lawn... in the mud... and the cold... with hundreds of people... at a rock concert... where Billy Idol was playing.
She said something about us being insensetive by trying to pass. Who brings their baby to a place like this? I'm hoping that baby pimp slapped mom and asked, 'What were you thinking?' for dragging him/her out to that thing.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Well, I'll just add that EDDIE HIMSELF said how wonderful it was to see all the babies and toddlers at his shows in Berkeley back in 2007. They all had ear protection on, never heard a peep. Seem to recall Eddie rambled on about how lucky it would be to cradled in warm, loving arms listening to him ... and something else like, "with a tap on hand!" Was pretty funny.
THat Bridge story is hilarious, like the kid didn't wake up when the Giants clinched during Idol's set? Great night![sic] happens0 -
your choice...
but I'd say no. Get a 'sitter.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -

In the meantime, you could also be annoying other audience members. You'd also be taking along a 20 month old baby to an age-inappropriate event where it would be unfair and unrealistic to expect her to stay in one place for so long at that time in the evening when she would normally be in bed.PJ: Sydney, 11th February 2003 ♥ Sydney, 26th January 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 20th March 2011 ♥ EV: Perth, 7th February 2014 ♥ EV: Perth, 8th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 11th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 12th February 2014 ♥ EV: Sydney, 13th February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 22nd February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 23rd February 2014 ♥ EV: Brisbane, 25th February 2014 ♥

I'm sure I'll take a lot of crap for this but...
I think an Ed solo show would be a perfect place for a one year old.
I'm usually passed out by the second or third song in and I haven't even seen any of this solo shows since "Ukelele Songs" came out. Sure as hell ain't no Pearl Jam show. Just a big tease & snooze fest...0 -
how can you tell if a one year old is a huge music fan? really? my son liked playing in the snow for 5 minutes, should i take him snowboarding with me? my god, it's a concert. don't be those parents. skip the show, they'll be plenty of others.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

is this a serious question?
why on earth would you even consider this?
way way way too young.uke can save the world0 -

I'm not saying bringing a 1 year old to a concert is ok. However, if you came over and told me how stupid I/we were, I would make sure your hippie ass would be getting fit for dentures shortly after the show
Of course, that was a joke!0 -
1 year old is a bit young, but admit it.. this is fucking cute, and a far cry from child abuse:

Are you fucking kidding me? What a selfish way of thinking. That's pure attention seeking, by the way, to bring a kid just to get something from Ed.
Jesus fucking Christ. Please tell me you're being extremely sarcastic.
purely selfish attention seeking. of course it is. u new here?
and i certainly wont FUCKING tell u if i am being extremely sarcastic or not  :shifty:0 -

Yes, I am new. I hate attention seekers at shows, they're much like groupies.. They just want something that they can brag about after the gig.
Anyway, I'm sorry. I couldn't tell if you were being serious or not. I'm still not quite sure but, yeah... I think I'm gonna leave this thread now. :roll:I'm still out here waiting

Each to their own but I think it's too young. My little girl is 14 months and loves music! She dances to every song she hears but a concert like that is too much.
A) it's too loudits probably going to go for long enough for the baby to get bored or tired, then you'll have to leave early
C) you stand the chance of drunk idiots knocking into you or baby
It's up to you but I would give it a miss.“ "Thank you Palestrina. It’s a wonderful evening, it’s great to be here and I wanna dedicate you a super sexy song." " (last words of Mark Sandman of Morphine)
