That is awesome! The only good story I have is about meeting a girl on this board and having her meet me in Grand Rapids for the VFC shows. I'll share details for posters for sure!
I don't want to be chosen (if I happen to be chosen please pass the poster onto someone else). I just wanted to say how awesome and generous this is. This is a great community to be part of.

Terry McDonell recently wrote a brilliant article for Sports Illustrated called "Sport in America: Courage, Intergrity, Fair Play. How We Define Ourselves in our Games". The message was channeled thru sport but music could easily be substituted as the focus. Here are a couple of quotes that moved me. Substitute music and/or Pearl Jam for the sport(s) theme.
"The older you get the more you realize that this is what sports are most about: the moments before...when a person takes a flashlight to his soul and inspects himself for will and courage and spirit....Who am I? And, Is that going to be enough?"
In reference to the Brandi Chastain Olympic shirt(less) celebration: "But even events like those are transcendent only for people who are willing to open up their hearts to it."
Thanks Dimi helping define this community is such a positive way .
I know I don't post on here a lot... but I do read the forum daily. The one thing I know for sure, is that this man is the heart and soul of this forum! I cannot even begin to list the acts of kindness, and nice words that D shares with everyone on the board.
That's just toooo awesome of you Dimi! Thank you for all you do on this forum, you constantly brighten people's day and it is much appreciated! And thank you so much for the help on Euro travel, I'm planning my first trip to europe and can't explain how excited I am. Hopefully our paths will cross somewhere!

In New Orleans 93-94 waiting in line for tickets they were playing 2 shows that week, before the internet so we had to go to Ticketmaster sites, my site was a Dillard's! We got there at 6am 4 hours before the store opened and the line was EPIC!!!! Now there were probably 100's of selling sites, the doors open and the sale starts, a few hours go and a lady on a golf cart comes out and says that all sold out!!!!!, BUT AND THIS WAS A HUGE BUT they were working on a 3rd night so everyone stay in line. The first two nights were during the week like Tuesday and wed., when they announced the 3rd night was on that Friday night! So I end up with 4 tickets for that night and it was incredible! That was the first and last time I ever saw them play BLACK for at least 10 years! I have never saw so many people crying at one time! Later everyone said that the Friday night show was by far the best show of the three! Now almost 20 years later still a huge fan and my friend at the time that I brought to that concert ended up marring and we are still going strong.........thanks PJ.
The first time I heard "Alive" in 1991, I felt like I was hearing a painful chapter of my life story set to the awesome music for which I had been waiting. (I mean, acts such as Wilson Phillips, Amy Grant, Nelson, New Kids on the Block, Extreme, Color Me Badd, and so on were dominating the airwaves; it was truly a dark time for rock and roll.)
I'll explain. I was told at a very young age that my biological father had died while I was still a newborn. (He and my mother had already split up.) As the years went by, I learned that my mother received this news from a less-than-reliable source -- namely, a rival for her affection -- so I became more skeptical of the story and more hopeful that he was still alive. The story was still somewhat believable because he had a severe form of Type 1 diabetes as a juvenile and wasn’t supposed to live past age 18, but I had this shred of circumstance on which to hang my faith. So, when I first heard Eddie Vedder sing the chorus, the 16-year-old me always imagined it as my dead/missing father singing/pleading to me that he was still alive. (A misinterpretation, I know, but that’s how I heard it.)
We tried searching for him and his family members a few times in the early 1990s but always hit a wall. Then, in 1998, I got a call from my mother -- she and my grandmother had found him. Not only had they found him but he was living 45 minutes away from where I was living at the time (Sarasota, Florida) in the town of my birth/conception (St. Petersburg, Florida), no less!
He was still alive!
There is so much more to the story, but I have bored y'all for long enough.
Thank you Dimi!! So generous.. Should I win the grand prize I will keep 1 PJ20 and give the other 2 away via drawing on here as well :-) Would love a poster from the greatest weekend of my life...

Just very cool of you to offer these up as a giveaway. Maybe we'll meet in Europe this summer!
Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
Good on you man.
