Like what? I've never experienced a miracle. Please share.

imagine what would it take for you, I was an atheist, to believe in God
and perhaps you will have your answer.

or you know you could just tell us...
It was a traumatic event, not a happy one, one that I carry much guilt from,
one that involves people I love dearly, some still living, so I would call that too personal.

Besides it would prove nothing to non believers, those that require evidence
to believe, it would be futile my sharing.

Others will need to find their own proof/evidence ... if that is something they seek.

    Moving Train.....

Politics, current events - reasoned debate and discussion - we can all learn something new.

What part of ANY religion or g God centered thread meets the above?

NONE. EVERYONE draws their little lines in the sand. There is little I see that is "reasoned" or falls in a discussion. And further , not many I see are willing to learn something new in regards to these subjects.

So my question is , "can we have LESS God and religion on the train?"

we can all learn something new from this thread also ... at least I have

talk about lines in the sand how about abortion, gay marriage, the death penalty
all core beliefs fall under 'lines in the sand' and no one changes how they feel about their core beliefs
why they are called core beliefs ... the essence of who we are. I think God fits pretty good there.

Being at its heart a political forum I personally think religion or God have no place in the political arena. By design our form government was to be seperate from religion. quite a bit of what we see today is pandering to this " religious base". Dont get me wrong, your choice of faith or lack there of is none of my business. Whatever you chose or are compelled to believe, more power to you. In my opinion it becomes a perversion OF that belief pandering the way these FOOLS who want to "lead" this country.

Part of the first amendment is the freedom of religion. Flip side of that is a freedom FROM religion for those that belive differently.

While I agree, most especially your last statement and yes I don't think it belongs in our government,
I do think some, as we have seen here already, would like to discuss and learn more.
They have opinions to share ...freedom of free speech and thoughts to share.

I was hoping to learn some more from the Islam thread.
I was disappointed it was just a joke.

I have read in this thread what others have posted on the historical basis of Christianity...
    did you?
    it was cool.

My point there are perhaps some here who would like to discuss topics amongst themselves
pertaining to religion and God. Freedom to do so in an unthreatened way, to share
knowledge experience and thoughts. It's all good! And hopefully it is all love! :D

For those that want to discuss anything amongst themselves, I believe that is what the PM function can be used for? OR take the discussion to a different arena. Food for thought.

I'd like to know what % of post on AMT nowadays are people pretending they are the board police. Seems awfully high. The longer threads are usually because people are bitching what the topic is suppose to be, what you can and cannot post about, etc, etc, etc.

And, yes, I know, I should've started a different thread with this as the topic. Thanks.

PM come on what's up with that... must trouble you speaking of God :?

similar to how blacks were once treated ...
should believers go to the back of the train or not ride at all :?

People can discuss religion and God and it should be done with respect for all
I think we are all capable of that

look how far this thread has come... by golly... I think we've got it!

Respect for each others beliefs :D

that I found hushing others to be an unsatisfactory suggestion,
    and therefore,
    somehow you found,

    this disrespectful to you :?

Actually, I agree with you, but I like a messageboard where people can post what they want to talk about it, even if I don't.
