We're driving in from Johnson City, TN. Tentative reservations at the Courtyard by Marriott on Assembly St., which I think is walking distance, and (fingers crossed) not a bad part of town.

This is the first time I'll see PJ live since Knoxville '98 (don't know what happened at that show, but they've never been back since).

I was in K-Town. I live in Oak Ridge. I don't think Ed liked Knoxville too much, at least from his comments at the show. I have the show on CD, I give anything if I would have gotten a poster. I didn't know/realize how hot the posters are. But I would like one to chronicle my experience!

Johnson City has their share of good concerts coming through. I think Knoxville kills themselves with the entertainment tax. With the renovation of Thompson-Boling, it is an incredible venue.

They should have ate at "Big Ed's" pizza in Oak Ridge.

Yeah, Ed seemed less than thrilled to be there, just can't figure out why.

Johnson City has good concerts? Where? When? LOL!!! Seriously, before the Seether/Breaking Benjamin show last month, it had been a LONG WHILE since anybody that plays rock and roll showed up around here.

Well, Kid Rock shows up about once every 18 months, but I think that's just because he likes the strippers and drugs here.

How good is that show on CD? Is it the same muffled bootleg that's been floating around, or better?

    Hi
First time on this but really looking forward to the show. Live here in Columbia and got my tickets - SECT 106 ROW 5 Seat 15-16 - by camping out overnight for the public sale. First at window and was told that FANCLUB got ALL FLOOR SEATS and a few on the side. Met Vedder at Prague concert in NOV-96, very nice person and very good show. Any questions about Columbia, feel free to ask me.

It so happens that I will be on vacation at Hilton Head the week of the show. And it happens that my birthday is on the 16th.

So I get to roll up from the beach, hit the show, then go back to HH and continue my vacation.

If you have to spend the day getting a year older, this is the way to do it.

Me too; I'm driving from the Lexinton area. Unfortunately I won't make it to the VA Beach show. That said, if any KY jammers want to carpool, PM me and maybe we can work something out, but like I said, I'm only seeing the Columbia show...

I have an extra pair if tickets if anyone's looking (face value of course). They will likely be on the floor.

I'll be heading to the show from Bonnaroo. It should be a fun time.

    Edit: SOLD!

Cool site. Thanks for sharing. Welcome to the board.

I've only been in Columbia once - I picked up a friends who was going to USC & we headed on to see PJ in Charleston in '96.

Looking forward to making the trip back there from Atlanta.

AMEN BROTHER! We do need some excitement for this show. I'm coming down from Richmond VA, and looking for a pre-show hook-up place. What's the Liberty Tap Room like?

I'm also driving from Lexington, but think I'll be staying in Knoxville a night on the way down to see a friend's gig. I checked flights and they were outrageously expensive, given that it's only, what, 350 miles or so...

    Happy driving :)

What was the line like at the window? Is the courtyard the closest hotel and how about the regular Marriott or other choices? Thanks.

It's ok. Pretty generic food that is a bit overpriced. Occasionally they will run some good drink specials. The best thing about this place is that it's only about 2 blocks from the Colonial Center and you wouldn't have to cross any streets along the way (which can be good if you've maybe had one drink too many ;)).
