The whole hypothesis is kind of odd... me thinks.
Technology (tactics) used by the military saves lives. The lives need to be saved because of military operations has brought death upon their doorsteps. The best way to save lives is to only go to war when it is the absolute last resort. The entire notion of choosing to go to war... then, justify it after the fact has to come to an end.
I agree...but I can't go into the reasons behind this war,btw XLNT post man nobody can argue with that statment.

Back to the main topic... many soldiers in Viet Nam died because they bled out on the battlefield. MedEvac tactics were slower and surgical hospitals where far.
In Iraq, forward operating surgical hospitals are closer to the urban battlefield so MedEvac response was fast and the trips to the operating tables were shorter. Had the battles taken place in remote or difficult to access terrain, the number of dead in Iraq might have been higher as those soldiers whom survived, might have bled out in the field, like their Viet Nam brethren.
