I'm finally watching The Fans are Alright on Blu Ray. HOLY CRAP!!!!! I knew there's a reason I needed a 46" flatscreen TV and that soundbar thing that Best Buy told me to throw in :lol:

I'm so excited to go back to watch the movie and The Kids are Twenty on this baby. The concert footage is gonna be AMAZING.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Why you need it? To watch Casablanca, Evil Dead, Saving private Ryan or some other Blu Ray title with great image and sound (took three examples from different times which all had great transfers). Pj20 and the two extradiscs are not a part of that group, not at all. The encode is horrible at places - as can be read in other threads on this board.
See thread title. Pearl Jam POSITIVITY thread. I'm not trying to start a discussion about whether one needs a giant flat screen TV to enjoy this. I was just expressing what made me happy today. Thanks.

Back to my apparently useless TV :mrgreen::mrgreen:

Hehe. It's not useless I bet :) Just don't watch PJ20 on BD and think it's "as good as it gets" :) But if you think it look great, jagged edges and all - thats POSITIVE and great :)

When your TV size just more than doubled overnight, trust me, ANYTHING looks fan-fucking-tastic. So yes, I am really enjoying this.:mrgreen::mrgreen:

I pray for it every night before I go to sleep. Along with money to fall out of the sky so I can fund my trip to Europe :D:D
  • The I heard Black on my way to work on the radio bump. Keep the positive PJ love flowing.
  • I don't know if it is positivism related, but I lost the count of how many times I have already watched PJ20 movie... just the movie, not the extras, or bonus discs, those a few times, lets say 5 each, but the movie, I don't know how many times I watched it...

yes, please, Alpine Valley stuff, since I could not make it...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...

  • I am so grateful that even though my husband and son are not fans, they are very understanding about my love for PJ. My husband even attended two of the Canadian concerts with me, and has told me he is starting to like some of their music!! :D

I feel like there's another one of these out there that is maybe (hopefully) more recent than 2011, but I couldn't find it.  Admittedly, I didn't look very hard.  Right now there's just so much to be positive about.  I'd love to extend some gratitude to a fantastic new album, a reinvigorated band, and a current tour.  I never imagined the bad I started following in my late teens would be the same one I get excited about in my late 40's.  So grateful.

Unreal album!  Liked LB and Gigaton as much as I could.  Knew age was a factor in new music etc.  but Dark Matter is phenomenal.  Listened to it so much.  Best since Avacado.  Maybe even since Binaural.  I’m a major nerd lover of Binaural.

Love this all!   Thank you PJ!  Can’t wait to see them in Chicago. Should be show 41 or so for me.
