Meh... My two best friends went from Greece to the (soccer) World Cup in South Africa 2 years ago. They found a way to get into the final without tickets... When there's a will there's a way. And that was a much tougher event to attend than a PJ gig, believe me.
I 100% agree with Matt though... It's 3am here and I still don't have tickets to Stockholm, waiting on the verdict from crowdsurge... I'll wait it out tomorrow and the day after. 10C need to fix this problem, for the future... As Ed said at alpine "it feels like this is a new beginning (for the band)" and 10C should think about that a bit. There's at least 20 more years ahead of us....
and yes there are more important things in life... like learning from mistakes... forgiving... and forgetting... looking forward, and having fun....
Isn't it funny that when you're in the same room with the band and they are playing, you never seem to think about the 4 hours you lost trying to get tickets? meh... just a thought...0 -
I came to just check in on the boards this morning and the site just wouldn't load, then I remembered "Oh shoot, the Euro Tour just went on sale... yep, servers are definitely crashing."
I haven't been a 10c member very long, but if we take a candid look at 10c management, it is obvious something needs to change. For every "I'm pissed off!" person there is another "Chill, life goes on" person, and I hate to say it, but every person who tried to buy tickets today should be angry. The 10c is not free. It is a service everyone of us pays money to use... largely to get the advantage of presale tickets ensuring better seats to see what most of us consider our favorite band. The fact that this has been happening on basically every tour the band has done since 2003 is unbelievable to me. This is not a little typo mistake, this is a big f'n blunder to be making for nearly 10 years. People do have lives and can not be expected to wait hours on end to find out when the servers will be running again to try and get tickets that they already paid a price for, just to ensure them a spot in line (membership fees). I couldn't believe how unprepared and ludicrous of a process buying the Alpine tickets was... I really thought it was such a big deal that it would never happen again... wow.
Its nothing personal against Tim, 10C, the band, or anyone, but when you charge people for a service and consistently do not deliver on it, something needs to change. 10C is the only official fan club for this band. We have no other choice if we want to get good spots at shows and to be a part of this community. It is that fact that makes these blunders think they take advantage of the fans. In a way, and I'm sure all the people that took off work to buy tickets and now, won't be getting them, ticket presales are false advertising.
Tim, as the head of 10C, needs to sack up and take accountability for not being able to do his job.0 -

Let me start this post with the information that I am only observing these two ticket disasters this year. I didn't try to buy an Alpine ticket (and wasn't angry about wasting several days of my life on it!) and I didn't try to buy a ticket from Crowd Surge either (so I'm not pissed off about the frustration of that)>
I am just noticing that there are a LOT of angry, discouraged, frustrated would-be ticket buyers. People willing and hoping to give their money to the PJ corporation. Many of these people will STILL probably give these financial resources to the band if they are given the opportunity to go to a concert. However, there probably will be less people giving their money if this problem is not solved this time.
Some people left after the Alpine problem.
Some people will leave after this problem.
There seems to be this casual attitude that the stampede of people will just keep coming to replace the ones that leave.
If I was running this business, I'd be WORKING HARDER to solve this problem so that I could keep the good fans I have. I wouldn't be throwing them away like this company seems to be.
I don't know if they're just leaving it to Tim (and he doesn't know what else to do) or if they have a group of people working on this issue but whatever they're doing, it doesn't seem they have the best personnel.
As so many people have said before, most people would lose their jobs if they repeatedly failed like this!&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0 -

You act like folks on here are really equating this ticket mess to being sick or homeless. They aren't so we don't need patronizing threads like this. This is a ticket mess in a long line of ticket messes. People are going to the PEARL JAM MESSAGE BOARD to discuss their complaints about the ticket mess.
Now, if people were going to the CNN World message board and posting their ticket complaints in a board dominated by war torn countries, unemployment, homelessness, disease, etc... then they would need a posting about getting perspective. But, this is a Pearl Jam message board and so it is completely okay to complain about the ticket mess without having to feel guilty.0 -

There's always something more important to worry about, but that doesn't make the small shit okay/go away. Yes, have perspective, but don't let shit slide just because something else worse is going on.
If nothing else, venting/complaining about the small problems feels better, because you might actually make a difference. Nothing I'm going to say/do is going to have any impact on the Penn State scandal, for example, but raising a stink about something like 10C mis-handling the pre-sale might actually have effect if enough people do it.
But yes, it's not a huge deal, and at the end of the day people do need to keep that in mind and peace the fuck out.0 -
Can I just email a resume to apply to sort the ticketing out? Are you taking applications?0

Your post wasn't bad and wasn't calling folks out but I guess this is a forum to voice thank you's and complaints, and right now is a time for complaints. The Ten Club is run by adults who can handle it. It is their job just like we have to deal with stuff in our jobs we don't like. We all know that there are worse problems in the world, so I guess my thought is let the complainers complain and get it out of their system. They don't need to be told there are bigger problems, because they know there are and they use Pearl Jam as one outlet not to think about those problems.
Instead, Pearl Jam plays 9 shows at most on a continent in a year so everybody gets stressed out because there aren't enough fan club tickets and each show is going to cost $500 minimum because they have to travel.0 -
I feel that sometimes people need to hear what they are doing wrong so that they take care of the problem. Excusing too much isn't helpful. It's almost like saying you don't think someone can do better and in this case I think they ARE capable of doing better.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0

It's such a shame that 10CLUB can't communicate with their customers.
They have a the perfect place to do this.
Just look at the way we communicate with each other here on the boards!!!
The Forum is a GREAT place to discuss what's going on...

When the 10C does post in a thread its often done to call out a member who complains about something, which (to me) only makes the communication barrier worse around here.
I will say though that they've always responded well to emails, so that's a different beast... but if they could just address things on here without letting the frustration build it could go a long way. We all know they actively read the board, so they can't say they are unaware of the posts around here.0 -
