first of all, something needs to change. the whole ticket situation has been a bit screwy for awhile. that goes without saying. also, i feel like they (the 10C) should try to communicate a bit more with the fans. they clearly need to start from the bottom & fix everything they can along the way back to the top. i agree with a lot of you & i completely understand where you're coming from.

that being said....
these are concert tickets to see Pearl Jam. there are FAR more important things in life. i recall being incredibly frustrated during the Alpine sale. but i finally realized that if i didn't get tickets that the world would keep on spinning.

not trying to preach here...just take a deep breath & be thankful for what you have. this will (somehow) work out. there are more important things out there.

flame away.

I agree. I was frustrated about the Alpine tickets too but like Matt said, there are more important things in life to get angry over than this.

not saying that the system isn't broken....it clearly is.

just simply saying that there are far more important things in life to worry about.

I agree, cept tht getting tickets to see Pearl Jam in Europe was supposed to help alleviate some of my other worries, not add to them

I had 3 tickets offered to me at Alpine so I could go in for some tunes, then go back outside to tailgate.

While I've been sat here over the last 6 1/2 hours watching this thing unfold, I noticed time and again that there's beer in my fridge.

    Now that's perspective!

Aussie tour in 03 only had 10c tix for the first show in each city, and the 2nd shows weren't so much announced by the promoters (and it was the promoters, not 10c) as a big SURPRISE!

I queued up for that shit overnight. I found out when I got home that the 2nd show had gone on public sale already.

Now, I can always look to the fridge, and there it is... beer.

Really, people need to get over this preaching about "perspective" and "more important things in life" as much as the people who constantly bitch about things on here need to get past their issues.

Some people wasted considerable time and effort, and from the looks of it, this has happened more than once before. As a business, 10c needs to answer their paying customers, that is the bottom line. This isn't bitching about some "limited edition" items, the ability to buy tickets is one of the prime reasons fan clubs exist.

No business gets a pass because somewhere in the world, really terrible things are inevitably occurring right now. So much for "perspective".

Disclaimer: I've only ever bought tickets for Alpine Valley and am not planning to go on any of the European dates. Just saying it like I see it.

Yep the classic Second show going on sale before the first show trick...IIRC correctly Melbourne #2 went on sale before Melbourne #1 - or was that 06?

if you would have read my post, you would have seen that i agree that something needs to change. period. this isn't an attempt for me to kiss anyone's ass or "preach." it is a valid statement. i spent a LOT of time trying for Alpine tickets, just like you did...and just like most of us did. i get it. i understand it & i agree.

if you someone can't see that there are more important things in life, then that's good for them. they can complain all they want. maybe i'm in the minority here by seeing that there is more to the big picture in life than seeing a concert or failed business practices.

    I did read your post.

And my point is: yes, there are more important things in life and often, people take time away from other important things to have their time wasted by the repeated flakiness of the ticketing system.

As for AV, I just showed up after work and picked up lawn tickets... took me all of 5 mins. I haven't had a single bad experience with the club, I even got the limited edition blu-ray. I haven't complained once about 10c on here, but I don't like this call for "perspective" every time there is a screw-up as much as I don't like the constant bitching by other people.

Incompetence is incompetence and defending it exhibits a lack of respect for the people whose time was wasted.

This board is to talk about Pearl Jam. Its about talking about being a part of the Ten Club.

I know people hate negative posts (and they rarely are helpful), but people aren't going to come on and post "I wasted 4 hours trying for tickets but its fine because I have other things going on."

I mean... its always nice to tell people to lighten up because its not the end of the world, but it is a PJ board for better or worse.

And I don''t even have to mention how condescending these posts are to the people who wasted hours trying for tickets instead of working, being with family, etc...
  • Im certain more or less EVERYONE looking for 10C tickets, will get them. Its frustrating, but really have faith in this. We will prevail! Lets stick together and understand its a stressful situation, for some people PJ and getting the 10C tix nearly IS the world, I understand that.

We will have a beer or 5, and have more to talk about next summer.

Hang in there! (and no I wasnt lucky either, YET!) :D

i wasn't trying to be condescending at all. sorry if you took it that way. i went through this with Alpine tickets and truly understand how annoying & frustrating the whole situation is.
