Are you sure about this? If its happening I rather go to Berlin than Amsterdam.

  • I hate to be Mr Moaner here, but why can't 10c just announce all shows at once, even if it means waiting until everything is organised? I don't want to go to the always-worse-than-the-second-night first gig at Manchester, if a second one is announced. But then can I really risk not buying tickets for night 1 tomorrow? Then you factor in 10c's no refund policy, it gets really fucked up in situations like this.

because if night one doesnt sell out, night 2 wont be announced?

I see where you coming from but i'm just thinking of the potential of these two shows combined. It's very rare we get something like this in europe. The US often get this with MSG/Boston/Philly etc and I think the Aussies had multiple shows at the same arena in 2003/2006. Two nights at the MEN with different setlists and mixed nationality crowds with a lot of Tenclubbers. If the rumours are true these shows could be very special.

Same with Berlin, especially since the band has a long tradition there, and it's in the centre of Europe... More 10clubbers and overseas fans there for sure...

So the question for us is:

Do we try for Amsterdam tickets tomorrow or save the money in the hope there's an extra show added to Manchester and Berlin?????

Actually I doubt that we will see a second date in Berlin. The recent Berlin shows needed several weeks to sell out and since it's during the week I guess there won't be a huge run for tickets.

I'm conflicted... If there aren't extra nights I'd like to do Amsterdam, but if extra nights are announced it'd be quite nice to save some annual leave and money by cutting Amsterdam out. :/

At the mo I'm leaning towards not believing the rumours....

+2. And this time it's not even the only show in Northern Europe like previous times.

Yep,same here. I'm not gonna try tomorrow anyway, waiting on public sale, maybe we'll find more before/on friday? If night 1 will sell out they'll probably add the second night on friday? Really hope so. And then we would know if we want to buy a second Manchester ticket or Amsterdam. Simple, isn't it? Not for 10c anyway

    I'm talking sense into myself.

    Pros of skipping Amsterdam
    - Save a few days of annual leave (I want to go to India towards the end of the year, so it'll go to good use)
    - Save a bunch of money by not having that week travelling round Europe (could spend it partying in Berlin)
    - Common sense says worst comes to worst Amsterdam may get 1 or 2 songs at most that don't appear somewhere in the other shows (not the end of the world)
    - 4 PJ gigs is still good innings.

    Cons
    - Zippodrome looks cool
    - A week in europe would be fun.
    - Amsterdam is nicely spaced between the other shows (so no tour fatigue)

Pros far outweigh cons. I'm trying to be rational!!!!!

It's simple enough for me :) If there's gonna be 2 night in Manchester i'm happy with it :) No need (well, there always is :D ) for more shows. If there's gonna be only one night, then Amsterdam is more likely going to happen for me :)

  • Thinking Manchester as can hop on train from London. Not sure I fancy festivals and the hassle of Isle of Wight so will then think Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. 4 scandic nights, 3 shows. Dandy.

I can see your thinking... but I'm not sure that the first night is always worse with PJ. Thinking about some of the classic back-to-back gigs they have done over the years, not always, but very often it is the first show that outshines the 2nd.

I've never been lucky enough to attend back-to-back shows, but I thnk the general consensus about shows like NYC '03 and Gorge '06, is that the 1st shows were the best. Of course, the reverse has also been true in other instances... but I don't think we can be certain that the 2nd show will necessarilly be better.

Must admit, I would love to attend both... like somebody else mentioned, it's a fairly rare opportunity for us in Europe.
