    Is impossible...

  • What? Were these white ones randomly distributed throughout the pressing or something? Were they available for only a limited time? Or are they still out there in the yet-to-be-purchased albums?

  • Be careful though, especially since you can't tell without opening it.

I just opened it and it's not white vinyl...I'm pissed. Bought it on e-bay.

Ah! I see! Thanks! So if you ordered it from here during a certain time period, you got a white one for sure...and if you ordered it elsewhere during that period, you may or may not have received a white one?

Were the white ones a higher price at 10c? Or same price and if they didn't have a white one left, they sent you a regular one?

I'm just curious as to why people don't know if they have one or not... Seems like if you ordered from 10c, you'd have ordered that specifically....

I don't have one, by the way...I just curious.

if you recieved a copy from the 10c during the White Backspacer sale, then you can be confident that it is white. the thing is....the packaging is the same, so there's no way to tell unless you open it. because of that, some people are selling the original (black) sealed copies on eBay saying that they're white....and they aren't. they're just out to make a quick $...which is complete bullshit (in my opinion).

you can still buy Backspacer on vinyl, but the White copies sold out very quickly. no one knows how may were pressed...but it was limited & they sold out fast...so that number has to be pretty low.

The best thing about white vinyl is how well it hides greasy fingerprints...

Thanks very much for taking the time to 'splain it to me! I very much appreciate it!

So this product was run just like all the other limited items...only available here at 10c, limited pressing, etc. The only difference is that the people reselling them on ebay are oftentimes dishonest in their representation, because they know that the cover is the same as a run-of-the-mill copy and unless you opened it, you'd never know. Right?

Thanks again for explaining it. I don't have one, nor am I in the market for one...I was just curious as to why what a person bought would be a mystery to them upon receipt.

open a case against that fucker and request the total amount, that was made deliberately, that person intention was to rip you off... and to add insult to injury, you will have to spend more money to ship it back...

Ask the seller to provide the copy of the invoice that came with it. If they don't have that, ask for a printout of the order # from the Goods section. It's not total proof that what you have is actually a white BS, but it's better than nothing.

you are welcome my friend, I knew it was on late Sept, however, I had to check my order history to reply accurately, to be honest, when I read what I wrote later, I thought "that may sound rude", it wasn't my intention to be rude, I'm glad you didn't take it that way...

I was told that some of these were released back in 2009, for raising funds for a charity, I honestly don't know if it was exactly like that... we don't know if there are more available, or if they are going to press more...

these were made available on September 29 evening, PST, and by October 1st or 2nd they were sold out... It seems that many people ordered several copies, and the rest couldn't get none, so 10C management decided to cancel all multiple orders and put those item cancelled back on sale "members only, 1 per member", even so, many couldn't get theirs since it was a limited quantity

So they weren't randomly distributed, it was a specific sale, the price was 25 + shipping, many white backspacers are on the bay right now but that is another topic...

    31.50 delivered

    Between 500-5000 pressed per santo

As for the op, file a complaint and offer to file a police case under the fraud catagory if the seller gives you any shit....and leave negative feedback calling out the fraud

These things may prove to be the one thing worth more open

  • This record should probably go down as one of PJ's rarest. I'm fairly certain that a thousand of these were pressed which is half the amount of the Benaroya set.

Man, that sucks. I am sure some of these ebay sellers are banking on the fact that you won't open it and just "assume" its the white vinyl. Very cool the 10club made these available, but having some way to differentiate it from the black backspacer would help to avoid this issue.

  • Thanks everyone. I just heard back from the seller and he/she is actually being pretty cool about it and I'm sending it back. The odd part is that he/she says the "ten club must have messed up my order"? Not sure I'm buying that.

I paid $170, btw, which I thought was pretty good. I've been tracking these things for a bit and, just like the Blu Ray limited PJ20 DVD's (which I already have) they are super expensive.

I'm still going to try to get one though! Just like a drug addict, I gotta have my PJ collectibles!
