I was hoping that the first show in the states for this tour would be kick ass and IT was all that and then some !
I thought they were going to play Rats really early in the show cause Eddie said it's nice to be back home at the home of the ALbany River Rats ( AHL hockey team that plays home games at the pepsi ) all of the banners were hanging right there for him to see....it was great to hear it

He was really engaged with the crowd this show and it was truly a great night. I thought it was gonna go longer he said they were gonna play for awhile early in the show and at one point asked if it was Saturday yet....in the last encore
yeah, great show. i yelled out" play rats!" when ed said that. i was in row n right in front in the middle, several times it felt like ed was looking right at me. is it me or was ed really bombed towards the end of the show (slurring words)? i was a little tired by the end cause it was back to back show for me (on thursday i saw live at nokia theater in times square, also a great show). . .had this good looking chick who was sitting next to me like grabbing me for half the show, even though she was standing right next to her boyfriend (i think she was on e or something). she was also the one who yelled out "zip it ed" and was telling him to shut the fuck up when he was talking between one song, which kinda bummed me out about her
EDIT: rats and satans bed were great, and he remembered the words, although he as usual forgot a line of wishlist
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today

    FREAKS RULE!!!!!

    <from row N on Stone's side>

Before the first encore Ed made a comment that most fans at the show fall into two groups: those that want to hear the hits and the freaks who want to hear the songs that have never been played before. Well, my name is Brian and I'm a freak. Tonight's show blew me away. The hits certainly rocked tonight, but most of the 10 clubbers around me really went nuts when they played the rarities.

The opener of Wasted Reprise segued nicely into Life Wasted. I know it's been talked about here, but I'm glad they finally put these two songs together in concert. And Last Kiss and Come Back fit together nicely in the second encore. Mike and Stone really went off on the guitar solos in what had to be the longest, most intense version of Porch I have witnessed. After a smoke break Ed picked up his guitar and joined in.

As for the rarities, where to begin? Red Mosquito, the Another Brick In the Wall tag on Daughter, Off He Goes, hearing Gone and Comatose live for the first time, and the entire first encore: Satan's Bed and Rats! Are you kidding me? Every one was accompanied by some of the loudest crowd singing I've heard. And to top it all off, at the end Jeff donned the Bush mask and gave a double middle finger salute (yes I've got pics). Hopefully Comatose will become a regular part of the set. Full of growling Ed lyrics and Matt's booming drums, it was the highlight of the night for me.

I'm hoarse, I'm tired, and I've got a smile on my face I won't be able to wipe off for a week. I thought Toronto II would be hard to top. But for us freaks, tonight delivered.

I'll post a link to the pics once I get them uploaded Saturday. See you in Cleveland
you must have been sitting just a couple of seats away from me. me and my friend were sitting on mikes side in the middle, row n, seats 9-10

    ALBANY FUCKING RULED!

I may have to bump this quickly up the chain to my top 3 or 5 concerts.

The band was having super fun, and the crowd was super grooving.
Not Philly '03 grooving, but cheers-o-plenty.

I loved that the whole crowd booed when they forgot to turn the lights on quickly after the last encore ... when they finaly came on ... it was 'BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!' all over.
    :D

We were buried in picks on Mikes side, as well.
    Typical. :D:D:D

another lucky freak here. row k right infront of ed, unreal seats. 14th show, maybe the best ive ever seen, a lot of talk about rats and satans bed, how bout red mosquito? it was sick. band was on fire, so much energy, life wasted and marker sound great live, all i can say is another unreal show and now ive got a bad case of post pearl jam show syndrom, thank god for cleveland... end of the show was funny as shit, jeff put a bush mask on and stone said "bush looks like hes been working out, hes bit more chesty" ed then said, "thats what we will leave you with, the word chesty" than he said "this has been great , dont know when we will see you again but thanks its been fun, interesting night..." wow ive seen so many bands, just cant figure out why pj is so head and heels above and beyond everone else. our cab driver after the night had some cool thoughts too, he said man everyone in town tonight is a pj fan, they have more of following then led zep did back in the day, that scary huge underground fan base, just like zep
Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...

My wife and I arrived in Albany around 1pm.. checked into the Hampton and walked the city a bit. Ended up at a bar across the street around 3pm and hung there until we headed to the show.

Highlights for me... New stuff of course... also, best version of Porch I have EVER seen. Red Mosquito was awesome, Why Go was great to see back in the lineup! ComeBack gave me chills... amazing to hear it live and worked well in the encore.

I have been to 3 shows with my Wife (and 2 before I met her) and we both agreed after this show that the crowd was a bit tamer than the previous shows we have seen. We had seats on Stone's side and during songs we expected the crowd to be going nuts on.. we glanced around the arena and saw a lot of standing still folks.. was kinda suprising, considering some of the fan reviews posted here. We were going nuts in our section and there were a scattering of folks nearby that seemed to be really enjoying the show.. but % of folks who were bolted to the floor outnumbered those who were jumping around. Band was working the crowd hard though and by the end of the show.. most of the fans were grooving. It was pretty cool to see them turn the crowd around.. by Alive the place was shaking!

Great show... can't wait for Boston

    Albany was.... incredible!

And to be honest, if you were at that last Albany Show in 2003, you were probably a little worried about the length of the show -
Wow - the band sure made up for that!

Hearing Wish List for me was totally wonderful and unexpected - don't think it's been played much in the recent shows and off the new Album, "Marker in the Sand" and "Come Back" - ??? My two favs... wow. I couldn't stand still the entire show - being right up, center, on the floor with an aisle seat so I could get a great view of the whole band was awesome.

Ed was completely engaging - the whole band looked like they were having a great time - and I have to to say, the Pepsi is not a bad place at all to see a show - it's fairly big without being huge - and still has a feeling of intimacy.

Can't wait for the next show I'm going to - so - who's going to NJ, first night???

Albany was AMAZINGLY wonderful. Honestly, for me, it will be a tough one to beat...next chance will be Boston 1 & 2...weeeeeee!

I first off need to say: THANK YOU TENCLUB for phenominal seats. Seems to me,by checking out touring fan that all went pretty well with it. We were sitting floor section 6 row B..and WOW. MY first floor seats, I was alll but crying out of joy for the first half hour in the Pepsi center.

ALso- great to see all the Boston peeps out in view. My boyfriend and I represented in 'Believe in Boston' and 'Real women don't date Yankees fans' ,respectively, and got great comments, much love (from RS fans),and some guff- lol - from the Yankees fans...good times! :)

The ride up pretty well sucked...same with the ride home- HOly RAIN! ANd finding the venue took forever. We were right next to it but just couldn't GET to it...frustrating.

BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERED,once PJ hit the stage!!!!

Opener- Wasted Reprise....perfect. Beautiful intro to an amazing first set.

I was most looking forward to hearing Comatose, and it certainly didn't dissapoint. But then....Red Mosquito....RATS!!!...SATANS BED!!!!! and to top any of that off....the BEST Porch I could have ever imagined.

The energy at this show was unreal. Surrounded by TC members (with the exception of the two dumass chiks in front of us who SAT - yes SAT- during anything that wasn't from Ten...howd they get their tickets anyhow...?!?!?!) jumping and singing to everything, watching the fantastic lazers during Severed Hand...

Ed was super chatty, and seemed to be ten years younger during most of the show with all the jumping and running around he did.

Mike was turned down way low during too much of the show...wtf? But HILARIOUS when he shaked his booty while on the amp for Last Kiss...hahaha!

Stone was also chatty and in rare form, especially when Jeff donned the Bush mask at nights end.

ALl in All...a GREAT night, one of the best ever. Will be hard to beat, but me and the rest of the "freaks":):) :) will sure let 'em give it a shot.

    See y'all first night Boston!!!
Underneath this smile lies everything...How I choose to feel, is how I AM!

I'm surpised no one has mentioned the Killer version of Grievance. The Pepsi Arena was on fire. Hands down this has to be one of the best shows I've seen them play. I was second row Stone's side thanks to a terrific friend. The show was phenominal and the energy amongst the fans was amazing. I don't think I've sweat this much since the 03 shows. Thank you to the two girls in front of me, dancing like mad, you really got our entire section energized and moving. Fucking fantastic show.

oh me oh my.... this is in tier 1 of my personal rating system of shows (i have 3 tiers :) ) i've been to, along with state college 03, and ottawa 05 - this ties with those definitely. it has the elements - the unusual songs, the longer show.... the unexpected. i already wrote something about satan's bed and rats in another thread but those were holy shit! moments. I LOVED them opening with Life Wasted Reprise - it was like church (and PJ shows are as religious an experience I think I'll ever have), with the organ. What a cool beginning. The first appearance of Comatose!!! That is a good one to sing to. Grievance, DTE, Red Mosquito. Others have described so much detail I don't know how much I can add. We were in floor section 5, and lots of good energy all around.

I forgot to add that Ed's banter was awesome all night. My awww moment was when Ed talked about what people did to various songs and I think he said fell in love to.... and my hubby put his arm around me.

I'm downloading the show now, I cannot wait to hear it again.
