Um, is that offer extended to everyone? I can hook you up with GR 2006 in exchange? Albany? Detroit? Anything?...I totally missed the VCF tour.
Got the 06 GR show - listen to it every minute I can, thanks.
Looks like I need to make some CDs!
I would love the Detroit show. Send me your contact info.
This show was my 16th and after reading all the posts I felt like I had to point out how the idea that this was an exceptional crowd was way overblown. I was sitting just in front of the luxury boxes and most of the people in the boxes were watching the Pistons game inside the box for most of the show. Also there were many empty seats in the top rows. Back in the old days when the shows were sold out and everyone was completely into the show, this really added to the whole experience. I know that everyone wants to believe that the shows they attended were the "best ever", but most of the time this comes across as kind of silly. That's the impression I got reading most of the posts about this show.

People in boxes are never fans.... and it was an important Pistons game, I even caught a glimpse during a concession run..... The crowd was better than any Van Andel show I have been to. There were a few empty seats toward the top, but that was barely noticeable...
annnddd...apparently, Jeff was into the game too for he and Ed joked about it and it is on the bootleg as proof. Like Ed said, people will think you are bullshitting about this show, but they would have had to be here to believe it.
I don't think every show is the "best ever". In fact, the last Denver show I saw kinda blowed. The 2000 10th aniversary show in Vegas was the best till I saw the GR show..... I think the phrase "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing applies here. If it's your favorite show, than hell - it's your favorite show.
I have heard a lot of PJ bootlegs over the past 6 years but this show is possibly the best I have heard (by far this tour especially)... wow that is a very nice setlist with some of my very fav songs... i.e. Parting Ways, Sad, Around the bend, Off He Goes, HTI, Crazy Mary and Blood... Just imagine actually being there...
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

I went to 8 of the 16 shows on the first leg, and for me, this was the best show. I was at the Chicagos, GR, Phillys, DC, and NJ's. As Eddie said at the end of the show "Grand Rapids. Who Knew?" This was clearly the one show of those 8 that the band was most relaxed, as well. Maybe it was the small venue/approx 8000-9000 people there, or maybe it was due to the energy in the front because of the "new blood". I don't know. If I had to order the shows from best to worst it'd be GR, NJ 2, NJ1, Chicago 2, DC, Philly 2, Chicago 1, Philly 1. Of course, this is just my preference, but it's based on setlist and how the band actually played. DC is ahead of Philly 2 because the band was more "on" that night.

i WAS there and i still can't believe how awesome it was. the whole night was like a dream. they played the best songs, goofed around on stage, and generally had fun. and the crowd got into it, blasting out the songs with eddie and having fun. the people around me (and me) had never had seats as good as we all did and we were all so excited the whole time. it was unbelievable. even eddie said at the end that "they'll listen to the tapes and they won't believe it" (not verbaitum) but it happened and never will anyone that was there forget it.

I went to three shows, and have all the boots so far from the 06 tour and I must say, Grands Rapids takes the cake. I have no problem admitting this show kicked the DC show in the ass!!! Best show of the tour so far, man, what a set-list and performance.
Only thing I would change is the opening song, instead of "Smalltown", nice to see "Oceans" or "Sometimes".
The two encores are incredible, Wow!!!
San Fran 92, San Fran 93, Berkeley 93, Indio 93, Fairfax 94, DC 95, San Fran 95, DC 95, Va Beach 98, Columbia 98, Dc 98, Va Beach 00, Columbia 00, Philly 03, Bristow 03, Chicago 06, Chicago 06, Dc 06, DC 08
My first show was at the tiny Deltaplex and still is probably my favorite....but if any show competes it's the show at Van Andel. I walked out of there completely spent with a smile on my face. The energy was awesome from start to finish and everyone around me on the floor was just freakin' out. You could tell they were all having fun. He made a comment about Chicago having nothing on Grand Rapids.....which was true, but I think if they came back to Chicago on a Friday or Saturday it would be a different story. I saw four in a row and this one was BY FAR the best. I got the poster and the ticket stub framed for the memories.

I didnt make it to that Deltaplex show i figured wasnt a full set so i didnt want to go, heard it was ok. I think i made a wise choice as the show at Van Andel was a classic.

The wise choice would have been to see both. The delta plex was an awsome show , smaller venue.
Being my first show i have got to say it was great! i mean i have watched and listened to all the other shows with my friend who has gone to about 9 i think and i found some that were just great. And then i finally went to the GR and it was amazing. Besides the guy next to me who was singing along but couldnt really hit any of the notes. I felt a great connection between the band and the crowd. And also for my first show got floor seats which was great because those are always good. but to end this i have got to say RVM was my fav song that night. Thanks alot PJ for giving me inspiration and great music.
believe me...i would be happy to have ticket "mishaps" more often. i have never experienced a crowd like that night, nor have i ever enjoyed myself so much at a pearl jam concert. letting us newer fans in the front (although most of the fans i talked to had been in the fan club since '95-'97 and that's not THAT new) made all the difference!

i've seen pj live almost 25 times since 1994. i've attended many of these shows in 10C seats. amongst them all, i've been to the epic '95 soldier field show, two MSG shows, benroya hall, all three mansfield shows, state college, united center a few times, alpine, and several others considered 'the best' by many.
grand rapids is hands down my favorite for one conclusive reason. all the individual elements necessary for a 'great' show (seating, venue, crowd, setlist, pj's energy & onstage chemistry, length of show, band's comfort level, etc.) seemed to come together at ONE time - so special.
there's a reason grand rapids (of all places) is one of the favorite boots from the tour.
