That's a shame. I could think of a couple of performances that deserved to be dropped in favor of this.

    This was kinda funny.
At last night's Grammy Awards (February 12), deadmau5 showed up wearing his signature giant mouse head, but the Canadian dance guru also known as Joel Zimmerman was wearing another, even more hilarious article of clothing: a T-shirt emblazoned with Skrillex's personal phone number.

Deadmau5, who was up against Skrillex in several categories (Best Dance Recording, Best Dance/Electronica Album, Best Remixed Recording Non-Classical), pranked the rising dubstep star by wearing a shirt that read "(626) 319-1039 u mad bro?"

Deadmau5 tweeted a picture of the shirt and wrote, "But @skrillex , doesn't mean you're safe from getting the ultimate mau5 trolling experience :) prepare! ;) hahaha love u!"

Evidently the pair have a healthy rivalry going on, since Zimmerman subsequently wrote, "Nice try with the call forwarding @skrillex ;) one step ahead of you! Ps. Congrats dude! Seriously, so rad!"

So evidently deadmau5 isn't too bitter that Skrillex beat him in all three categories they faced off in.

If you were planning to phone Skrillex's number, we're sorry, because many people already beat you to it, and all you'll get is a full voicemail inbox.

Kanye West is a fucking piece of shit. I hate everything about him. His wife is a prostitute. He has no talent. He cannot sing. He doesn't play an instrument. He had a couple popular songs in the early 2000's. Fuck him!!!!!! Go away!!!!!!!

^^^^^^100%! Guys a clown. Talking shit about beck. How many producers and song writers does beyounce have? And yet someone like beck who writes his own music doesn't deserve to win album of the year? I don't listen to beck but I have more respect for him then I'll ever have for that dumbshit.

Edit-and yes, his wife is a high priced call girl

  • One of the best South Park eps in recent years.

And yeah man, College Dropout and Late Registration were unbelievable albums, but dude.... This is just getting ridiculous every time he opens his mouth. I literally thought this was an Onion article when I saw it this morning. It just makes no sense.

The best part is who the hell even cares about Grammys anyway? Beck probably couldn't give two shits.

I don't think Kanye was wrong (well rushing the stage, but not the comments being reported). The Grammys rarely reward forward thinking music. In this particular case, the Beyonce album was indeed the best and the most progressive. That's to say nothing of the impact it had when it dropped.
  • The War on Drugs was the real album of the year though.

Beyounce forward thinking album? She has like 3 song writers. Which one of them would be considered forward thinking?
  • Tim SimmonsTim Simmons Posts: 8,079
    Pharrell
    Timbaland
    Boots
    Frank Ocean

She has a co-write credit on every track.

it's like Groucho Marx said....I don't want to be part of any club that would have me as a member...winning a Grammy is meaningless, from a music standpoint.

And thats what Kanye is getting at. Giving awards to mediocre albums (even if its by great artists) doesn't really push for Grammy legitimacy.

You get song writing credit for adding 1 line or word to a song. Not saying much. I'm sorry, but she can sing, that's about it. She doesn't write shit. Whereas beck, who I don't listen to, writes all his own stuff. But it's the Grammys so fuck the Grammys.

I've listened to enough of Beck and Kanye. What's funny to me is that I think Beck has better flow and is a better "rhymer" than Kanye. But this is music and music is subjective.
I don't understand how he needed to be so fucking disrespectful to Beck.
Also Kanye has like 30 nominations and like 12 wins or something. What the fuck is his beef? Unless it's with himself.
Kanye West doesn't care about Beck people. Lol
  • Kanye applauded when Arcade Fire won album of the year…

I will say this though, many, many people old and new have never heard a song off the Beck album.
    Why?
I only heard it on college radio stations. There are no "rock" stations anymore…

    Kanye has a legitimate gripe.
  • If you are ony listening to the regular "radio" then you are doing it all wrong nowadays. The best stuff never sees the mainstream radio.

Just because not many people have heard the album doesn't mean that it isn't worthy. I'm no fan of Beck either...haven't heard the album at all. Just funny how this egomaniac douchebag Kanye thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. What a clown.

Beck's album shouldn't have been in the Rock category though. More Folk or something. Lightning Bolt got snubbed

Lol at Lightning Bolt getting snubbed. I can name 15 albums better than that off the top of my head. And hell, LB was their best since Binaural... I really enjoyed it.

Rock comes in many forms. Beck is rock... Just not exactly old school "rock n roll". Those days are over.
