hahaha this, for us, is an everyday thing. You won't believe me, but these merch stands are just outside some of the subway stations and in flea markets all over the city.
Not that all mech stands are PJ related items.0 -

I know a place that has all the leftovers (not the "El Chopo" flea market). If you want I can go there and see if they still have pillows.
Cool, can you tell me where that is? I'm staying here until Friday

Why is it OK for them to sell these products on the street (especially @ this flea market) but if people here in Canada & USA make / sell a single shirt or poster, all hell breaks loose from Pearl Jam Co? I don't understand.
Why do Stubhub and the big scalpers make millions out of fans while a regular Joe selling a couple of tickets outside a venue in the US will most likely be arrested if caught? In Mexico scalping is illegal so there are not big corporations in the game... but there are scalpers outside the venues as everywhere else. Laws and regulations are really an interesting thing, specially while comparing from country to country. I don't think there is a straight answer to your question
Funny thing is that you see even the artists buying stuff or kindly talking about it: Metallica, Pearl Jam (as PjLuis mentioned), and I even saw the Motley Crue guys buying stuff outside the first time I saw them at the Sports Palace. Maybe they realize this is a local thing that is not hindering their own profits and not worth pursuing.PJLuis wrote:Mexico is not a healthy country and that's why people prefer buying from this merch stands (they save some money).
I actually believe people ends up spending much more, but of course they get more and cooler products for the same price.
I think they let them (bootleggers) to generate income in the so called informal economy, and not necessarily because people is saving money by buying from them.
Or if CIE is actually behind it, maybe it's on the contract with the bands? LOL0 -
oh man i would be like a kid in a candy store.... fuck!!0
