Kind of bad but kind of happy. I was cleaning and I have a rule with the kids. If I am cleaning go play in the loft (their massive play room) as I dont need more toys around while vacuuming when I just picked them up. Over the years it turned into throwing out toys when they disobeyed my rule. They would just wait for me to leave and then go get the toys out of the trash. So then it turned into I will break the toys in front of you. Probably a horrible thing to do but it makes me feel very disrespected when they do it as I do give a few warnings. I havent had to break a toy in a long time as it does work. Dennis the menace was over and the kids challenged me on that topic so I kept my promise and snapped a couple of toys in half which put my 2 who were playing with him in tears. Dennis ran out crying home and probably won't come back for a while so that is why I am happy. They weren't his toys and I don't care. That is a cardinal rule in this house. Take care of your shit or I will for you.

    Wow.

I was lucky to have a kind mom and grand parents. Sometimes I hear stories of other parenting styles and I'm surprised by them.

I always tell my kid-less friends until you have them don't judge. There are no timeouts and you have to deal with it the best you can as things happen. I am a Marine and we have a few rules as that is what I know over all else:

    1. Respect the chain of command (my wife and I).
    2. Respect your siblings. They will be there with you your whole life so treat them right.
    3. Respect the common areas in the house. If you want to be a pig in your room fine as long as no food so no ants. Its hard to keep a clean house with 4 kids so we respect the areas we all use.
    4. Respect the pets.

And yes I do give them a rank and we do celebrate promotions. Higher rank = more privileges. You can also be busted down a rank if grades slip or chores slip. Kids today are over stimulated and control has to exist to get them to really listen. I also never lie to them and try as hard as I can to keep my word over all else. Its the only way I can keep them listening later (I do have a 15 year old who still wants guidance luckily) if they know they will hear my real opinion on topics such as drugs and my experiences and other things.

Pain.... And I just want to say I'm sorry if I ever discounted anyone's Fibromyalgia, or chronic pain disorders... ( I don't think I ever have here, but in general). I'm sorry to my sister Melissa, for discounting her pain at times..

I in general SOOOOOO DO NOT like the common human. But I would NEVER NEVER NEVEEEEER wish this on any human alive.. On top of my hip pain, ( today's a doozie!), I have been having this widespread fiery pain across certain parts of my body.. And all at once... Like getting a freaking gigantic tattoo across the majority of your body.. Naproxen helps some.. But THAT's how I'm feeling.,

I promise not to take it out on anyone, like yesterday..

My wife has fibromyalgia as does a friends wife. Do some research on the internet about diet. There is a certain diet that helps. If I had the info I would pass it along. My wifes case isnt that severe yet and she doesnt want to switch foods. My friend said it helped his wife a lot.

And just to go show you how discounted it is fricking spell check doesn't even think its a word yet.

Found out there is a dog park (fenced in area) in the next town over, so good news for my dog. Got his Bordetella shot and he'll be good to go in about a week.

I've done the same thing to my kids. I've never actually broke the toys. But I've told them if they can't keep their rooms clean, I would throw whatever is kn the floor away. I threw a bunch of my oldest daughters toys away when she was about 8 one day after repeated warnings to keep her room clean. She cried for hours. No way I was going to keep them in the trash (but she didn't know that). After about 6 hours, (and a spotless room) I let her get her toys. I've never had a problem with her keep g her room clean again. It worked like a charm.

So today I painted a room (including ceiling), got the groceries and did errands, did yard work for about an hour and a half, cycled 30 km, made dinner and did some house cleaning and....my back is SCREAMING at me! Oops. Time for the hot water bottle.

That's hilarious, @shetellsherself . I also took today off but it involved me sleeping til 1pm when I came under full doorbell assault. Otherwise I'd still be sleeping.

I'm being a lazy asshole though - it's fuckin beautiful outside.
