Speaking as a 40 something that knows PJ, look around, this is a band that has earned a lot of fans, and we're so pleased to be a part of something so damn tight.
We've been going to Mtl. to see the great shows for years so shit, don't even try to talk about age.
Rockin show.
Greg and Barb
I can't even tell you how much fun that was. They are so on right now! They were having a great time and the crowd was totally responsive.
The opener was a huge suprise, but the *full on (kevin's mom)* assault that followed was unbelieveable. After just a few songs I knew this show was going to kick my ass. There was no time to breathe, they just kept comming.
And STONE! Someone please give this man the mic more often! He was just a *Rockstar!*
The evening (hell, the whole fucking day!) was full of suprises - Mike going into the crowd, the SAVE IT FOR LATER tag, almost losing an eye (just kidding!), The Danzig cover (again!), Mike's Led Zep teaser at the end of Ledbetter and the best ask ever "Do you want this?"
And to think Rhode Island - you said it was only going to be 23 songs!
**** Thank you so much 10c - you guys rock! ****
Also a big thanks (and hello!) to all of the great people we met tonight - ya'll rawk!!!

Just got back from the show and the show was amazing but Montreal was better. Ottawa people seemed to have something stuck up and people really didn't dance. Some sections were sitting down through the show and other people were only dancing to songs from Ten. The Montreal show was more lively and people were dancing and singing. Alot of the crowd was over 40 and had no idea what song was what. The floor was lively in the front but thats it.
The setlist was amazing and I personally loved the show but I wish Ottawa peeps were more excited.

See I too was in Montreal and also thought the crowd was more lively there than tonight, maybe with the exception of Harvest moon...we were on the floor last night and in the 100<s tonight, and I dont know if it is due to the seating difference, but i thought that the montreal crowd was better...setlist and music from ottawa was better in my opinion though...and how about our roads, lol!!!!!! was that funny...obviously ED hasn"t driven down the 20 to Quebec city yet, LOL!!!! Very curious to see what they"ll play in Quebec city tuesday...
Speaking of Quebec city, anyone knows of a pre or post show party somewhere? thanks!!!!
YEAH !!! Holy Fucking WOW...!
I loved this show...I was at last nights in Montreal but enjoyed tonights show more..What a set list and they just played and played..3 hours of tunes..amazing..
Awesome too that they got SK to come out and play...
Time for bed soon...soooooo burnt!......but well worth it all!
I went to K/W and London and had a great time. However, any setlist that includes In Hiding (my personaly favourite and I have never heard it live) and Don't Gimme No Lip.......is a great show. I refuse to rank these Canadian concerts as they have all been fantastic and very much appreciated, nonetheless Ottawa has a great list of tunes. I only wish I had more tickets here at home that said Pearl Jam with dates that were upcoming.
For those of you that do..... enjoy every minute.

Looks like another classic show guys! Don't Gimme No Lip?????? I must be frickin' dreaming, never thought they'd play that in a million years!
Quick question to those that went....how did In Hiding sound? They've played it once this tour and it was good but a little off if you know what i mean. Did Ed nail it?
The guys are kicking ass!
"This town deserves a better class of criminal... and I'm gonna give it to them."
How about Brain of J on this setlist too!!! WOW...what a show this must have been!! Definitely going to download. Was Harvest Moon as tight as it was the other night??

I agree that the crowd didn't seem overly into it (unlike Kitchener). The crowd did, however, get into it near the end, during the last few songs, but for the most part the was was pretty subdued. But the setlist and length of the show rocked so it made up for it . . . . amazing show . . .

I got to agree with you that Ottawa people usually suck at concerts and I was sceptical about going to Ottawa to see PJ cause ALL the shows that I went to in Ottawa the crowd was sitting during the whole show and I was even told to sit down in the first few rows behind the players bench during The Tragically Hip, supposedly one of the best Canadian band ever!!!
So I warned people who were going to see PJ in Ottawa, especially those who were going to see there firts PJ show, not to expect to much out of the crowd cauz they had a history os sucking at rock concert. But last night, I got to admit that beside State College, that was probably my best PJ show ever!!! For the first time I saw people standing up during the whole show in Ottawa, thanks in part to all of you Jammers that I saw made the trip from either Wisconsin, Connecticut, New Jersy, Pennsylvania, NY, Alberta, Quebec, etc...,that's what made the rest of crowd get into it. The crowd started off slow, but after Walsh, they played heavy songs and that fueled the crowd for the rest of the show.
The setlist was fucking amazing, the guys were rocking like hell, with Mike playing while walking ithe floor's aisles, Eddy jumping off speakers, swinging the mic, Stone singing "Don't gimme no lip", Jeff's multiple scisor kicks, Mike running around like a mad man, Matt missing a few rolls but that's no big deal, Boom's solos, especially in Crazy Mary where he was going nuts compared to what I've seen him do in Montreal or in pasts shows!!!
few highlights of the night :
-"Walsh" as an opener, have they ever opened with that???
-"Go, Hail Hail, Animal, Brain of J., Corduroy"...one after the other, was blowing the roof!!!
-"Black" - the crowd singing loud and ending with the..lol..tootootoo-too-tootootooooooo...lol for about 2-3 minutes(with Ed stretching the end looking as if in disbelief)
-Ed's crticism about "the roads in Canada being constructed in portions of 15 feet, and then adding another 15 feet" (something like that)." It felt more like a train ride more than anything else!"...first time I saw him joke for that long in a concert...people were laughing loud.
-Hell of a jam in RVM that fired the crowd for the "saw thiiinnggss"( that crowd went so f***ing crazy!!!
-Given to fly for the 2nd night in a row, but didn't mind cause it was sooo good!!!!
-"Crazy Mary", with Boom signaling Mike not to stop like if he was saying to himselg "You're on a roll buddy, keep it goin", and then both exchanging solos.
-"Leaving Here with SK on the stage, singing, jumping around and seeming to have a hell of a night with the boys.

Just stepped in from the 2 HOUR AND 50 MINUTE SHOW. I think this show topped Kitchener! So many highlights to share . . .
Hearing fuckin' WASH, GO and NOT FOR YOU for the first time . . .
Watching Eddie sitting on the stage on Stone's side, smoking and drinking his wine while Mikey scorched his Even Flow solo . . .
Mike & Boom DUELLING during Crazy Mary (Mikey ran over to Boom's side, stood right beside him and his B3 and they duelled: Mikey would play a few bars, then Boom would match him and play a few, then Mikey would play again, followed by Boom etc.) . . .
Mikey fuckin' RUNNING DOWN THE FLOOR during his Alive solo, just in front of our section . . .
Save it for later tag on Betterman!
The show never seeming to end - the freakin' 2nd encore was nearly as long as the first set!!!!!
The show ended at 11:50pm by the way!
.....and more to add but I am so tired (the show exhausted me!). I need to regroup, organize my thoughts and add more tomorrow! Good night and thanks PJ for the best show of the tour so far . . .
More for me to add after my sleep . . . .
Bee Girl and DGNL! Thought we were going to get Mankind when Stone was given the mic, and he joked saying we'd been "asking for this for a long time" (I thought he just meant him singing) and we get DGNL! Stone could rock out too! He wwas jumping all over the stage. He looked so different without his guitar around his neck and just a mic in hand! Great! Check out skanji's video clip ---> http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=143225
Bee Girl was great too. So nice to hear live.
Hearing In Hiding for the first time since Barrie '98 was awesome!
Mike seemed in an amazing mood - jumping all over the place, pointing to the crowd, clapping along to the songs when he wasn't playing, really trying to get the crowd going.
Matt Cameron destroying (not literally ) his drums while closing out Immortality. The spotlight was only onhim as he pounded away to close the song.
Mike throwing in some Stairway To Heaven riffs at the end of Crazy Mary I believe (I could have been mistaken but it sure sounded like it - and I'm not confusing it with the Zepplin riffs during YL)
Eddie putting a shirt around his head like a bandana during Even Flow that someone had thrown up on stage.
Eddie's Haliburton speech and his "Ka-chunk" noises he made while describing the bumps on the road! (BTW he had another funny specch later on in the show but I can't remember what it was about - anyone remember?)
Black NEVER seemed to end - Eddie added a great little tag to it as well. It was much longer than the Kitchener version.
Crazy Mary was the best with Mike & Boom duelling (see quote above). It will be worth buying the boot just for this version alone. Highlight too was Boom shaking his hands as if to say "Ow! Hot!" after he finished the song.
Thought I'd finally killed the "Daughter" bug at this show. Thought I'd finally go to a show without hearing it because they hadn't played it. I remember thinking after GTF "please don't play Daughter" and sure enough they dove into it two songs later
Another highlight was impressing (or scaring ) my wife by calling Corduroy two seconds before they started the song, calling Even Flow and Jeremy in the same manner, then saying, just after Black "we'll probably get one more before the encore and it will either be Betterman or Rearviewmirror" (based on Eddie putting on the guitar near the end of Black). Then they played BOTH! Sometimes I think I know their setlists too well! Also called Small Town, but only because Eddie kinda gave it away just before they started . . .
Anyhow, sorry for the long review but I am still in awe about the show. I think what made this better than Kitchener is that;
a) I could SEE what was happening on stage
b) The show went on for frickin' EVER
c) Heard WASH, GO and NFY (songs I've wanted to hear for YEARS)
d) It was my hometown show!!!!!!
My pics aren't the greatest 'cause I was kinda far away (Section 105 with 10C tix) but they'll do . . . .*****

OMG was that show awesome. Again, Don't Gimme No Lip was amazing!!! I couldn't help but video tape it on my camera. The whole show was amazing, I swear I had a smile on my face the whole time.
Eddie's rant about Canadian highways was hilarious! Bump bump, bump bump.
I wish I went to more shows. Can't wait for their new album.

Another highlight was impressing (or scaring
Anyhow, sorry for the long review but I am still in awe about the show. I think what made this better than Kitchener is that;
a) I could SEE what was happening on stage
b) The show went on for frickin' EVER
c) Heard WASH, GO and NFY (songs I've wanted to hear for YEARS)
d) It was my hometown show!!!!!!

Eddie's rant about Canadian highways was hilarious! Bump bump, bump bump.
I wish I went to more shows. Can't wait for their new album.
