Who the hell does this? Fucking Eddie Vedder does. What an awesome idea. Some really cool people got this, and they were stoked, including a 10 club member, who missed out on ten club seats and was way in the back.
took my little brother, he loved it. Ed's performance was so powerful, he was very talkative tonight, worked the crowd like a pro, and the Santa Cruz song was a full fledged completed song, and it was amazing. He had the who venue singing the chorus..."cruizin into Santa Cruz" or "coming into Santa Cruz" or "rolling into Santa Cruz" or ??? someone help me out here, lol. Ed talked of Neil playing on his radio, he's always with him were ever he goes....has an old friend they met when they were 17, now they're old and have kids, but whenever they hang it's like their 17 again (these aren't the exact lyrics but cover the story he was telling in the song), the end was basically Ed saying I think I need to move down to Santa Cruz.
the song was really good, of course played on the Santa Cruz crowd, and wow how special was that, it debuted with us, who knows what kind of play if may ever get again, but we are all hoping for it to be released?
All my local friends (non PJ geeks like me) were blown away, and I hung with them until 4am, and they were still in awe of Ed, and wanted any solo stuff I had of his, lol...which I will provide
anyone going to the shows - get in your seat for LIAM FINN and EJ (hottie in a dress and cowboy boots) What a great song writer and performer. I have had his album for about a month to five weeks, really like it, but his energy on stage is amazing, everyone seem to like him a lot also, most my friends, at least 10 last count, went and bought his cd after his set, and Liam was at the table signing the cd's for each.
we'll I still have Berkeley II and Santa Barbara, and it was a great decision make a small vacation out of this to see multiple shows. Ed is still God
Awesome review!!! Enjoy the rest of the shows your seeing.0 -
"Ok, ya. Ok. Right. I'll meet you on the corner. Right. I'll have the $300."

gohike wrote:Let me tell you... As a "local" of SC, who absolutely loves my town, I can't tell you how special it was to hear him sing a song about it! I've had a lot of amazing experiences that PJ have been a part of. My wife and I got engaged on the beach in Santa Cruz, and then we flew to Seattle for the 96 show right after w/o telling anyone. My first born was still in the womb during Bridge School 99, etc, and my tour friends I travel w/ are some of the most special people I know. I've been to over 50 shows since 95, and this was by far one of the most special moments of any show I've been too! I believe Ed sang about settling down here. That wouldn't be too friggin cool! LOL!
What a FANBOY you are, how old are you? 12?
shheessh, he's probably gonna change the name of the town to Berkeley tomorrow anyhow...
but you are pretty special to me, but not like Corky0 -
Awesome review Beachdweller!! I was looking for you amongst the line and in the crowd during the break between sets, but didn't notice anyone. Glad to hear you enjoyed the show!
What can I say, even though the setlist was strikingly similar to the Vancouver shows, I had an absolute blast and thought the performance was outstanding..Ed never disappoints!!! Personal highlights for me were MOTH, You're True, I Am Mine, the SC song, No More and Hide Your Love Away. Having a personally signed poster with a little added note to my baby daughter on it while having some quality hang time with Ed just makes the evening....priceless.
Looking forward to Bezerkeley Night 2 now!!! Maybe we'll run into each other there Beach.
Peace,

no, the song was about Santa Cruz, a place he has been many times, and it has local flavor to it. won't be any names changes, it's ours"Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)

headin south my compass reads
look at our speed we're going 63
out the windows as the trees go green
i look at them and they look at me
got neil young on the stereo
he comes along wherever I go
but something different as I hear him now
headin' towards his old hangout
i can feel the liftin' of my blues
i can feel the wide horizon new
got the feeling I just can't lose

"Dude! You remember the second verse, I'll get the first verse!"
"OK!"
.... yeah, that never works ....
but yeah, let's put an end to the joker thinkin this was anything generic!
Bits keep coming back to me as I look at the setlist.
Happy People. Like Australians! "No Worries, Mate!"
"No.... Worries!" (As in we've got 'em!)
"You know when you see the happy person, and no, I'm sad and you're coming down with me. And now YOU are coming down too!"[sic] happens0 -
acutejam your a bad ass for remembering that....i was so excited i couldn't think straight.
i freakin loved the show. it was great how eddie interacted with the crowd. what was 145 and why did people keep yelling that?
i really enjoyed forever young it was great as well as society, both very emotional, at least i thought.
and does anyone from the bay know if there is a group of people like the seattle group that drove down for the show. i swear i think there was 100 seattle fans there at least. i would love to travel with people from the bay or sacramento area to shows if pj tours more than just the east coast.Kansas City 1998, Kansas City 2000, EV- Santa Cruz 2008, EV- Berkeley #1 2008, EV- Berkeley #2 2008, Outside Lands 2009, Seattle #2 2009, Portland 2009, LA #3 2009, LA #4 2009, SD 2009, KC 2010, STL 2010, CBUS 2010, Indy 2010, Cle 2010, Buffalo 2010, Boston 2010, Newark 2010, MSG 1 2010, MSG 2 2010, PJ20 1 2011, PJ20 2 2011, Midtown 2012, Worcester 1 2013, Worcester 2 2013, OKC 2013, STL 2014, Tulsa 2014, Lincoln 2014.0 -

Just got into Philly from Santa Cruz show. WOW. Woweewow wow wow.
ARC was a mash of both ARC and The Wolf, It was unbelievable. There were definitely vocal patterns from both tracks present here, I went out to the car to listen immediately after the show. And, wasn't Arc to never be played Live again?????? I need some more info on this. Song was very Thom Yorke esque...
The Set, though similar for all shows to date was amazing. Lukin and Porch acoustic...Need I say more?????. The atmosphere was very cool in Santa Cruz, a Sit-Down show, and with minimal to no nonsense chirping from the crowd. Zippo is Awesome, I just quit smoking in January, so it will not have frequent use, but for Collectible purposes, this is VERY RARE, not many available at each show- there was a box of MAYBE 40 at SC...Shirt is cheap, Made in TURKEY, WTF??? Feels like it will shrink 2 sizes when I wash it but cool logos on front and back... ALSO- Some tickets became available last minute at the ticket booth in SC so maybe this happens again at another show.
Liam Finn was GREAT. GREAT. GREAT. Very cool guy. Energetic and entertaining on stage. Hope to see him pop into Philly on tour himself.0 -
Anybody who scored 10C tix... how were the seats... close to the stage???Trading magic for fact, no tradebacks... So this is what it's like to be an adult...0
