shheessh, he's probably gonna change the name of the town to Berkeley tomorrow anyhow...

but you are pretty special to me, but not like Corky
i hoping you're joking or being sarcastic. if you weren't at the show, don't comment on what you don't know about. i'm not from santa cruz, but i can't definitely say that was not a song he'll be singing from town to town. way too specific to SC.

i was very moved and, like i said, i'm not even from there. and it was amazing to think Ed can pen a song like that on a whim...just riding in the bus.

    what a great show!

i freakin loved the show. it was great how eddie interacted with the crowd. what was 145 and why did people keep yelling that?

i really enjoyed forever young it was great as well as society, both very emotional, at least i thought.

and does anyone from the bay know if there is a group of people like the seattle group that drove down for the show. i swear i think there was 100 seattle fans there at least. i would love to travel with people from the bay or sacramento area to shows if pj tours more than just the east coast.

Just got into Philly from Santa Cruz show. WOW. Woweewow wow wow.

ARC was a mash of both ARC and The Wolf, It was unbelievable. There were definitely vocal patterns from both tracks present here, I went out to the car to listen immediately after the show. And, wasn't Arc to never be played Live again?????? I need some more info on this. Song was very Thom Yorke esque...

The Set, though similar for all shows to date was amazing. Lukin and Porch acoustic...Need I say more?????. The atmosphere was very cool in Santa Cruz, a Sit-Down show, and with minimal to no nonsense chirping from the crowd. Zippo is Awesome, I just quit smoking in January, so it will not have frequent use, but for Collectible purposes, this is VERY RARE, not many available at each show- there was a box of MAYBE 40 at SC...Shirt is cheap, Made in TURKEY, WTF??? Feels like it will shrink 2 sizes when I wash it but cool logos on front and back... ALSO- Some tickets became available last minute at the ticket booth in SC so maybe this happens again at another show.
Liam Finn was GREAT. GREAT. GREAT. Very cool guy. Energetic and entertaining on stage. Hope to see him pop into Philly on tour himself.

there are a handful of bay area jammers I have met over the years that travel to shows up and down the west coast, across the country, hawaii, europe, and austrailia. I don't think we are a group that generally gets with eacy other and plans this though. I have pj fan friends from over the years all over, and we keep in contact, and find out who is going where, and when we are meeting up.

we need to tighten things up in the bay, or at least I need to stop being the outcast, lol

the Wolf part came in on a couple of Ed's live wails, IMO it was a mesh of ARC and the Wolf, but mostly ARC.

I would tend to agree -- bit of a mashup, bit of the wolf I thought coming through near the end (now that you mention it)! Regardless spine-tingly hair-raising bumpy-flesh goodness!

The "mad scientist" look in his lab coat was just a bonus!

Wonder if JT will play Millworker this summer? I've never seen HIM do it!

I think it was something just completely "experimental" hence the labcoat :-)
    It was beautiful nonetheless.

Or I'll just agree with you.... much easier....

"Imagine the kind of shit I'd be saying if I was drinking!"

It must be said, he was a "good boy" and did not down two bottles of wine. He had "red juice" in one glass, a glass of clear water-like fluid in another, and an opaque coffee mug -- and he seemed to hit the red and clear mostly?

So yeah, writing the Santa Cruz song all day, warm-up -- no wonder he didn't leave the joint til 2:30 or so!!!

I was wondering about that red/orange color drink. Maybe fruit juice?
I was surprised he did not have his "usual" bottle in front of him. Maybe he has to focus for these "all by myself, nobody back there to rely on" shows so, he wants to keep his mind clear :-)
I met some really great people last night. Would like to keep going with that tomorrow at Berkeley show :-)

I believe it's Power-C flavored Vitamin Water. Someone saw him drinking it out of the bottle in Vancouver.

City of Santa Cruz/Civic Auditorium was perfect for a show like this. Parked the car at the hotel and walked to everything (beaches, pacific ave night life, venue). Everything was really close. Didnt move the car until I left this afternoon.

Finn was a great opener. Dont miss it. He's Flea on Drums. He'll make you want to go out and buy a drum kit. Would love to see him accompany Ed on the drums for atleast another song or two.

My date had never seen Ed perform. She got goosebumps when she heard his voice for the first time and she was about to cry three songs into the set. Big points for me for taking her to the show, thanks Ed.

I really dont have to report about Ed's performance. He was his usual amazing self. Halfway into his set the venue's staff had forgotten all about what they were suppose to be doing and was facing Ed, watching the show with all of us.

One of the biggest surprises of the night was when I walked up to the snack bar and bought two bottled waters and a pack of red licorice...All for a grand total of $4. Thank you Civic for not raping the crap out of someone who loves his water during the show. I also thought the free Sniper was a nice touch to the show. The back of the Sniper is perfect for displaying on your desk at work.

Went to the Red Room/downstairs after the show where plenty of fans were celebrating this special night. Was good to see/meet many of you out there. Including Duncan, who says he rode his bike from SF to SC (the day of the show) to look for his future PJ wife. Duncan, when you finally meet her tell her this "HOPE YOU GOTTA BIG TRUNK CAUSE I'M GONNA PUT MY BIKE IN IT". Outside I barely even noticed the Santa Cruz police dept. I can only think of one time where I even saw a police car and they weren't hassling anyone.

And that brings me to this...As I was leaving town I was thinking what a great place this would be to have a West Coast FAN CLUB ONLY SHOW! The city, the venue, along with all the things to do on Pacific Ave. Maybe during a time of year that isnt so busy but still warm, say September. Just something to think about...
    Play Sacramento!
  • amazing show last night.

Arc brought tears to my eyes... as well as my wife's.

Santa Cruz was amazing!!!!! The venue was awesome...quaint ... very intimate and theatre like. The show had a great vibe, the crowd was great.

When my husband and i picked up our ten club tickets we did not know what to expect as far as seating. However, we could not believe it when we got Second Row! Thanks Ten club! To make the night even better, as we walked into the main theatre to take our seats, a man-- promoter-- randomly traded our second row tickets to First Row center stage tickets. We could not believe it!!! At first we thought we had been duked. But it was legit. At the end of the show he was going to sign me and another girl's program, but no pen....ugh!!! so he turned around and threw out guitar picks and left.

Liam Finn was amazing!! He literally beat up one of his drums. totally fans of him now.

Eddie was out of this world. Being so close to him in this venue, intimate setting, with his guitars/uke's and his music was awesome! This solo tour proves what a very talented and special person Eddie is. His personality is truly genuine.

Lukin kicked ass! arc was brillant. I am mine was one of my favorites from the night and loved the Santa Cruz song. All of it was great!!!!

For those that attended and for those that are planning on attending the upcoming shows, you are truly in for something special.
