I can't say anything that hasn't already been said here! I've been to the Gorge countless times, and nothing else compares to this show. Thanks Pearl Jam, Thanks ten club. I have a high member number and was happy to be in Sec A, Row 23, Seat 1-2. My brother and I looked back after the show started and asked a man how he got a video camera in. Then I looked up, it was Jeff's parents with their Montana Farmers shirts. What a trip.
If I knew where it was, I would take you there....there's much more than this.

The only thing I can add is that I can't believe more people aren't talking about the improv. Holy shit, that was beautiful and tears were streaming from my eyes. Ed has definitely grown in ways he was trying to tell us about. I loved, loved, LOVED it. :)

Thanks 10c for great seats too! You can't please everyone. I was in the 18th row, and happy as a clam. The blue sky with white cirrus clouds behind was a fucking incredible backdrop. Easily in my top 5 PJ shows ever... maybe top 2 or 3!!!

No, I don't think Ed was referencing "throwing in the towel", but rather the rareness in playing in such a cool venue. I believe he said "If we never play here again, we'll certainly never forget it". I think he spoke for all of us that nite. Ditto what everybody else has said...great show, awesome setlist, beautiful scenery...and the best PJ show I've seen in 10 years. And I thought the Missoula show on Monday nite was awesome...but together...it made for a great week. Thanks to 10C...and to PJ for doing things their way. The Gorge, Canada, Latin America...the good times are just beginning.

PS: Do I speak for everyone when I say that Pearl Jam needs to play a 3 night stint at the Gorge at the end of next year's US tour?!?!? Badass!!

I'll second that PS. It'll give me another reason to go up to Seattle, and the best reason of all!

I got a weird feeling when he said that as well. I sure as hell hope it doesn't mean anything close to throwing in the towel. Though, they are getting up there, and ed didn't look to good that first set! He pulled through though and gave an awesome performance.

The gorge only has shows in the summer and usually only on weekends. . .therefore there are not many slots and when ed said "if we never come back" he was only refering to the gorge, not to seattle or washington as a whole. it is totally possible that they, because of their schedules and stuff, will never play the gorge again.
It was just nice to have them not be at the god damn key arena again. . .

True, but all the Gorge has to do is "bump" Dave Matthews band, and viola!

    Sounds good to me!

Even with an opening band I'd love to see them there again.

I liked it when Ed said after Low Light, "That song was written by Jeff Ament. He skateboarded from Montana in order to get here tonight. I swam." And then goes right into "Man of the hour"....fucking beautiful!

I dug that big time, too. I'm still on a HUGE Gorge high. Vancouver was kick ass as well, but the Gorge will go down in my book as an historical show. All I regret is not meeting all the people I had hoped to... ;) but there's still hope, and if not in Canada, the US TOUR!!!

The Gorge was amazing and by far the longest PJ show I have ever seen....3:10 or so I guess. I haven't listened to the MP3 (to hear in a completely sober manor) yet, just about to download it tonight (just got back from Seattle last night) but it was awsome and was the best show I had seen in years..... Vancouver kicked ASS! I have not seen Ed with that much energy or the band with that much perfection since 1998! Vancouver goes down in my book as the 2nd best show I have ever seen. Who els was on the floor early enough to see Eddie play with the Supersuckers in that spaceman suit? That was an unreal surprize!

Yea that was awesome! I was standing 2nd row center when he came out, rocking out to the Supersuckers. Was very surprised and very happy to see Ed. :-)

    7. Meeting a bunch of beautiful jammers!
    8. Singing Even Flow as loud as I could!
    9. Sitting next to my beautiful friend Jamainiac!
    10. Hanging out in the parking lot after the show with Decides2Dream, BlueSaffron and Jamainiac.
    11. Parking under the 'C3' sign.
    12. Alone, Sad, Undone, Hard to Imagine.
    13. I just want to scream HEEELLLLOOOOOOO!
    14. Running in to Stickbiy and Gossman after the show.
    15. Walking to the parking lot w/ PearlJammer.
    16. Running in to Rockford, Wildchildrose and Ben Red blue by the bus.
    17. Jamainiac doing cartwheels in the parking lot.

Amazing amazing show. My mind still can't grasp it all.

Definetly the greatest show ever performed on the planet. That I've seen anyway. Better than both tool shows (that's saying a lot) and way better than rage.

But I lost my ticket on the way in to the show....in my pocket I later realized. And the two ushers in the main entrance really didn't believe me so I thought I was sol. So I went around to the side and had to kind of seduce this usher girl, I actually felt bad kinda. She was really cool, but I just had to get close so my buddy could slip me his ticket (he was on the inside already). So I took his and went back to the entrance to get in. And then, oddly enough, some guy said he had an extra ticket and jsut handed it to me. So even if our little scheme didn't work I still would've gotten in.

And then of course the greatest show ever performed live.....though the girl next to me was kinda pissed for some reason. And some guy from Ohio was right behind us, he was cool as hell, but his wife was not happy at all. He brought her all that way and she wasn't even into it...poor little girl ran away for good...

Great show...and now hearing the boot I'm hearing all kinds of things I didn't catch the first time...

During Given to Fly Eddie changed the lyrics a bit...made it to the river had a smoke on a cliff (my buddy pointed that out). And just Eddie talking.

Just a great, great show....still in awe and cannot wait for the next time.

Aw that's so cool, I made it on your list. It was really cool to run into you too. :-) I know what you mean though about your mind not grasping it all, I kept getting asked, soooo what'd you think!?, after the show and I was like speechless... had no clue how to answer that. It was like dude I really need to just take this in right now! I still haven't really calmed down yet... I started listening to the Vancouver boot and on the way home I'll listen to some of the Gorge.

And in MFC he said "there's a lot to be said for out here"

Another good lyric change was in "State of Love and Trust" Ed sing "I'll do this one myself....with Mike's help" then mike just started wailing on his guitar!

Someone in Vancouver asked me about the Gorge setlist.....I couldn't spit out any of the songs.

....maybe it was all the gin I drank. :p

Wish we could have talked more!

See ya the next time around!

I'm pretty sure it had to do with something I ingested at the Gorge too... :D

I'll be in Philly and AC, if you're there, we can chat more. Meant to make it to the BBQ, but my stupid plane had an emergency landing in Detroit and then we got stuck there for 2 hours...and got into Seattle really late. :-(

Amazing setting and setlist from this show! Couldn't have asked for better! The highlights for me have to be:

    I believe in miracles
    Lowlight
    Hard to imagine
    Alone
    Sad
    Undone
    In my tree
    State of love and trust
Alive (have heard this several times live but it kicked ass at the Gorge and in Vancouver!)
    Porch (love that slow beginning)
I won't back down (man, I wish it was on the boot)
    Crown of thorns

Man, what an amazing show!! So much energy!! I can't wait until they return to support the new album!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! I need more Live PJ!!

Yeah, I was in section B, row 21., right in front of them. I thought it might have been jeff's parents (Montana Farmers shirts). A few crew members escorted them to they're seats and made sure they were OK and asked them if they needed anything else to make them more comfortable.

Ok. First of all I flew over 7,000 miles roundtrip to see this show. PJ has been there for me since I was young. I made sure to be careful when I hid the 1/2 oz. of Shrooms I brought on the plane. We camped next to 2 real cool sisters named Andrea and Kate I think. Took the Shrooms about 6:15 and were totally tripping once in the 5th row. PJ came out and were their normal humble selves. I honestly believe they have something no other music group has and that is without question... They were the best they have ever been!! Honestly its my 13th time seeing them. I have seen them in their early years, in Australia 3 times and in Michigan many times. I tell you that this was the pinnacle of their time as musicians. I don't know if anyone caught it, but Eddie admitted to tripping when he forgot the words to one of the songs. Every mistake made in lyrical rememberance, was totally made up for by energy, sincerity and more than anything else... love. The band showed how much they stick together by tearing up almost every time Ed was trippin a bit too hard.

Picture it... Sun going down over the Cascades, 7:30, Hard to Imagine at dusk, tripping on shrooms, Ed trippin on shrooms which probably means PJ itself was trippin, people just like you who feel the words as you do, and Mary rising up above it all. Shit it damn near makes me cry!

Thanks for all the memories and for one of the most lucid and coherent nights of my life. I think I saw God in that crowd and in that band. Did you see it too? Here's to changing tihis world!
