    Looking at local housing rental prices... thought maybe a newer, nicer place nearby might might be an okay change..... :shock: :shock: Fuck you Vancouver! Ridiculous - may as well love in Manhattan! $1200 for a dark 1 bedroom basement with no dishwasher?? I am suddenly very happy to have the shitty place I do for the price. Great location at least, and not a dark basement .Thank you rent control! I guess I'll stay put.

    I think my favorite is the 5' x 7' closet in someone else's bedroom for $1000.

    :lol: it's the same here in or close to downtown (maybe actually worse; I don't know if there is any such thing as a place in those price ranges downtown unless it's a flop house on skid row or something. Vancouver wasn't insanely expensive until relatively recently, so buildings were never built to have closet-sized apartments - if you want to spend only $700 downtown you need a couple roommates in a small place - bunk beds definitely might be in order). But really, I don't think many people would sink so low as to live in closets or tents in a furnace room here. They'd just move out of downtown. Of course, NYC is way cooler than Vancouver, so maybe it's worth it there. I live a 20 minute train ride from downtown, so it's not THAT bad right where I am, thank god! Nice area (and very close to work). I guess I should count myself lucky??? :| Well, at least I still live on the good side of the River. Location location location!

    It was delightful! Foodgasm. I didn't think there was any good Mexican to be had in this city - luckily I was wrong! This is the place! Delicious and authentic. :) I will hit it up every time I go to that record store from now on!
