I totally agree. Sent chills down my spine re-listening to Betterman last night - if I hadn't gone to that concert I would have regretted it for the rest of my life!

I also hadn't realised that Ed had started into the Beds are Burning tag earlier but he stopped and went with the crowd singing and then came back to it - awesome.

yeah mine too. I guess they left it out for legal/PR reasons i.e. what Bono apparently said.

I remember when he said that and actually felt a bit offended even though I didn't go to Sydney 2. I'm glad they left it out..

The Sydney 3 bootleg is incredible. I have been listening to it for 3 days straight now. All the memories come rushing back. THE CROWD WAS INCRDIBLE. The quote in question is in the boot (at least in my version) 4 min into Do The Evolution... after the song music ends before "I got you" starts. Maybe it was a slam against Sydney 2, but you can tell in Eddie's voice how excited they were to have such a great crowd that Saturday night. I am proud to have been a part of it.

yep, you are right. Somehow I missed this.

a couple of my friends were at sydney 2 and the said the crowd was totally crap. heaps of people were just sitting down and being really boring so i think it's fair enough that eddie made that comment. i felt really proud to be at the third show and be part of such a good audience. i felt bad for my friends though becuase they were really getting into it and everyone else was being crap. although they did play baba o'riley at the second show which i'm exceedingly annoyed that i missed....

my bootleg has the quote in it. i can't stop listenign to the bootleg....it's so much more special than any pictures i could have taken on the night. i love that pearl jam give us the bootlegs because there have been so many concerts taht i've been to taht i can never fully recapture in my memory....aaahhhh i love pearl jam. :P

i thought sydney 1 was pretty good. not as good as the third show but yeah...i think eddie was mostly talkign about sydney two...because sydney one did kick arse. who knows....

I no I'm late on the subject but I remember the concert like it was yesterday! Unreal. I flew over from New Zealand to Sydney to see the concert. I had tickets to the first Sydney concert but couldn't go. My little sister went and then brought me tickets to the 18.11.06. This was one of the greatest nights of my life. I've seen them twice in NZ and was so gutted when we found out they weren't coming. It was just magic to hear them sing "I got you", a kiwi classic, which they sang the first time they visited NZ with the Finn brothers. The crowd was awesome and PJ were just unbelieveable, it nearly brought a tear to my eye. And the way they started with Betterman!!! LEGENDS!!!!!
