Great GREAT night!!. I liked the Betterman opener as far as it got EVERYONE singing and after that Ed gave me the impression that it was "right no excuses we're rocking out". From then on the campfire was on and the singlong songs were mostly what we got(my vioce is cactus). Loved the Beds are Burning tag .Probably the highlight of the tour for me. I got you was awesome too.

A special special 1st Encore I hope it comes across on the boot as good as it sounded.

Finished 4 gigs at Newcastle last night 9th row in front of Mike.AHHHH Memories..

Memory aint that clear after Newcastle but...

Thought the ploy of opening with Better Man was great to get the crowd involved from the beginning.

Last Exit, Green Disease were fantastic. Heared Inside Job for the first time which sounded awesome.

Smile was farkin great - just not expected at all.

My brother said to me before we went in, 'if Neil Finn gets up there and sings Ill die'. Well close to it...I got You by Split Enz and the look on his face was just priceless. I thought at this stage that it couldnt get any better then....

The little grommit on Eds shoulders nearly had me in tears and wasnt he getting into it. Whoever you are young lad - Ill remember you up there for a long time.

Ill put it second on the list behind Newy and just in front of Syd 1
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

Just some youngster that got to live the dream and got to bash tamborines with Eddie up on stage during RITFW. Ed had him on his shoulders, he looked about 12-13 and went right off.

Allow me to say...Thank you Pearl Jam, Sydney adores you :D

From what I can gather, I think it's fair to say that every city in Australia that Pearl Jam played to/are going to play to adore them. No one city over any other. We have been very lucky to get so much of them and I'll never forget the 3 concerts I went to as long as I live. Saw U2 on Saturday night and although they were incredible, I still prefer PJ over them. PJ rock, they can do no wrong!!!! And I will definitely be there waiting for them when they come back, however long it is.

and the expression on his face .. he looked as though he was just about to burst with excitement. Ed gave him a big hug at the end too.

I actually remember seeing that boy (I remember the T-shirt he was wearing) walking through the crowd with his parents that night just before we went in to the Arena and I was thinking "how cool is that, he's come with his parents".

There's one on this site in the tour photos section of Eddie leaning up against Nick .. Remember how he used to do that with Jeff?

sydney 3 was great. i never saw i got you, smile or soon forget coming. i only saw 3 people sitting down through the whole thing. i think brisbane 1 was better because of the extended black. i dare say i saw the two best shows of the tour except from the setlist is looked like newcastle would have rocked.thank god i didnt see sydney two because to quote eddie vedder 'it fucken sucked'.
Another man moved by sleight of hand.

it's called slow night so long. he's sung it before with the kings at a show on the kings of leon tour in america somewhere. i'm a HUGE fan of kol so to see that was fucking amazing. i was hoping SO BAD that eddie would get up and sing with them and i got it. i was so happy you don't even understand.

man....that was the best night of my life. pearl jam kicked arse and the crowd was so good. i went to the first night in sydney and the third show was definitely the best. man....so amazing

KOL went off!!!! ... crowd ate them up.. was really good to see!!!!... Eddie and Caleb rocked during slow night so long... wished they had done Hunger Strike together!!!.... was disappointed KOL didn't do Trani tho!!!... was brilliant at first Syd gig!!!.. Four Kicks still best song ever written and performed live!!
  • yeah their new songs were really really good too. they're getting better as songwriters and performers. i'm so glad the crowd was really nice to them. it must be hard being a performing act when you've already had your own tours before. yeah...hunger strike would have been awesome. although i doubt the boys in kings of leon would know it at all. they never play covers i think because of how sheltered musically they were when they were younger.

i loved newy for the setlist, but i think this show is my fave so far.

just an awesome vibe. i heard it was nick's (the kid who was on stage for RITFW) 12th birthday. that was such an incredible moment, hearing the place just roar for a young PJ fan.

thanks sydney for being such a great crowd!

I went to all 3 Sydney shows....AWESOME!!! (3 being the best in my opinion). I nearly went to Newcastle. Damn I wish I did. There have been such diverse set lists this tour. It is definitely the best tour I have seen them do.

Next tour....I will have shows to every single Australian show and make a holiday of it and tour the country. After seeing this tour it would be sooooooooo worth it.
