just not that great ... I'm sure they have their fan base.

That's like saying, "Why all the hate for Herpes? I'm sure they have their place..."

"The mega-platinum Canadian artists currently have two songs on the Billboard charts, “Bottoms Up” and “We All Stand Together.” Led by frontman Chad Kroeger, the foursome is America’s most popular foreign act since The Beatles."

The above is a quote from article...how could that be?

U2 just wrapped up a huge stadium tour playing in front of 60000 + every night
Led Zeppelin sold out both arena and stadium
    The Who huge tours

    The list is endless

I don't think it's true, that's just according to some website I've never heard of. Their last album peaked at #2 on the Billboard charts, U2's last album was #1. I'm just using U2 as it was one of your examples. I have never met a single person I know of that likes Nickelback, most everybody I meet likes U2 or Zeppelin, and a number of other bands.

I agree it's probably not true...since the article has no data to back up their claim...just wouldn't have surprised, after all look at how many people watch American Idol.

Want to smash the radio? Creed used to bother me to no ends. But now when I hear that band I want to smash the radio. I will get up from whatever I'm doing and change the station if they come on.
Anyone else? I think most music these days sucks monkey nuts.

Personally, I think their lyrics are garbage and their sound is generic. In addition, I also saw them at a festival during their early days...(they opened for STP, Deftones, and a few other great bands), and the singer came off as a prick. It was very hot that day in south florida, and he was trying to get the crowd going. He had a huge fan blowing on him the whole time, blowing his long hair back, likely for effect rather than relief of the heat..and when the crowd didnt react to him a few times, he slammed the mic down and stormed off the stage before their set was done. His comments were lame and condescending too. He just rubbed me the wrong way and his lyrics continue to do so.. I just avoid everything Nickelback.

I could explain this but I would prob get banned. But what comes to mind is 50 something year old women with tanned leather skin driving in theyre convertible Sebring with the radio cranked. That's part of it. A small part.
Did I mention the singers straightened hair and goatee?

  • I have a photo of the band pinned up on my dartboard.
I take great pleasure in bulls-eying Chad Kroeger.
