This is becoming a less and less attractive place for people to sell stuff...especially if said item was a pre-order one per member whatever bought from 10c.
My position is that this is a marketplace for all things Pearl Jam, there should be no reason to get hassled for trying to improve ones financial situation while re-distributing to a "deserving" (i.e. one with cash, but no luck) member.
Lost Dogs is our "store", but the self-righteousness of some make it a very unattractive one.... :(
Yep, this is why things are more likely to go to ebay.
If I ever find myself in need of cash, I won't be coming here to get my White BS in to deserving hands.
I won't want the harassment on top of whatever hardship contributed to me parting with my special vinyl.

Why don't you do a raffle? Maybe $20 a for a chance. I'm sure EVERYBODY on this board would buy multiple chances. Give 10% to charity and keep the rest.
cool idea
Maybe you could even get 10c to help facilitate (you know, to keep everyone honest)

I wouldn't actually blame you. The attitude of some on this forum lately is very undeserving.

I think this is a great idea. $20 a go, $10 to the OP, $10 to a PJ charity.
But its upto the OP what they want to do. A raffle could be alot of hassle to organise. I'm guessing the OP needs a quick sale, otherwise wouldn't be putting this up for sale. I'm pretty certain you can name your price for this, worth more than a Benny LP for sure.
Good luck with your sale and ignore those with the negative comments

The raffle idea is great, time-constraint could be overcome by more expensive tickets to enter....
hmmm....on second thought, that would probably lead to more disgruntled people, myself included
I felt super-confident back in the day, that I would receive a signed copy....no idea why....
burst, burst, burst the black bubble!
This place is insane, people really want this guy to offer it for the price he paid?
Id have to question how many people who are hanging the OP would genuinely do that.
Yeah hes lucky to 'win' this, but given we all know how rare they are now, it obviously holds a very solid value. He's entitled to that value.
Because he bought it, doesnt mean he has to keep it, he's enjoyed it for a time now and has obviously got reasons for needing to sell.
Yes a price would be great, but i certainly understand these are very tough to value, but in his credit he hasnt taken it straight to ebay....hes offered it out here to see if a deal can be struck with someone who would really appreciate it
I know i would love it, probably cant reach what would be required right now, but I wont slam him here because of that
This is a cool unique collectible. I recall buying three of these sets at the time to increase my chances and was quite deflated to miss out, but well thats life.
I wish I had bought more than 1 at the time...
But yeah, its a tough thing when people come on here to sell something where everyone knows what they originally paid. For some reason selling posters from even 2008 aren't questioned, but if its a more recent item everyone immediately starts thinking of what was originally paid. Some people paid $10 for a 98 poster and are asking for $500+ and no one blinks an eye and that's 50x original price. If this sold for $450-600 that's just 3-4x if we're looking at multipliers/profit % or whatever. The Backspacer whites are selling for $200+, right? That's 8x...
The OPs on this particular board shouldn't try to rationalize why they are selling whatever it is and just be like 'I need to sell this... send offers" or whatever. No need to give a reason - everyone jumps on it anyway and it just causes more grief for everyone. :?
I agree the raffle would be more time consuming, but he would probably make more money than with 1 buyer. IF he could sell 100 raffle tickets at $20 and make $2000, give $200 to a PJ charity, I think it would be worth the effort. I would def. buy more than 1 chance.

Why not do a raffle for say $10... cap it at a certain amount and then sell as many spots to people as they want?
So if they want $600 for it... so 60 spots... or so on. If you leave it open its going to get out of hand.. unless you promise to donate everything over X amount to charity.
I mean I agree all of the whining on this thread about selling this is pointless, but there still should be some sort of price set before they do this.

This sound good too. Either way I think everyone wins. We get a chance at an awesome item and the seller gets however much he wants.
And honestly, who really cares what people do with the stuff they buy. I personally hate flipping and flippers and all that crap because I am a collector. I like finding rare things and keeping them. But remember, this is america. What people do with the good that they purchase is their own business. People are just pissed because they didnt get something and people bought shit here with the intention to sell it. Remember we live in a capitalist society....this is completely legal to do. And although you may not agree with it, it is everyones american born right to do this. I bet many people on here own businesses. Does any get pissed at them for buying things at a lower price and selling them to make a profit? I didnt think so.

so is it "who cares" or "I hate flipping"??
Its I hate flipping and who cares. I dont like that people do it. BUt it would go against the idea of capitalism and the very foundation of what the US is built on to hate on it and to try to stop people from doing it.

If you buy something just to flip it and make a profit, that shouldn't be allowed. If you buy something and down the road decide you don't want it anymore, then I think it's ok to sell it. If it happens to be worth a lot then good for you.
Man I totally understand if he has to sell it, we've all been there at some point.
Just thought it was humorously cheeky to do it here is all:) the raffle idea is really cool and he could potentially make a lot more money for it if he did it like that. Cool idea.

Funniest thing in all the discussion here is that those who appear to have their pitchforks handy, calling for him to put this on ebay would probably be among the bidders on the auction.
fyi: If you go the raffle way, be VERY careful. A certain popular online payment processer FORBIDS the acceptance of funds for raffle tickets through thier system.
if you get caught, they lock up your account after a warning.
Its in thier terms of service and is considered "gambling". They only allow it SOMETIMES if its directly being paid to a charitable account with thier site--not for individuals who claim to be donating money to charity.
this happened to me not long ago, so trust me. And mine were $5 tickets.

So I looked into a raffle.... that would be illegal where I live unless it was on behalf of a charity, and it required some kind of license... tried to work out some other things but they didn't pan out either.
Sadly, I am resigned to something else.
But I would like to take a second to thank all the self righteous degenerates who made this process that much more difficult.
