I wrote a letter back in the day suggesting Toledo Speedway. It's a racetrack that held summer festival concerts. They called it the Speedway Jam. A perfect fit. Oh and for the younger fans a letter was a hand written message you put into an envelope and put in a mailbox. I know, it sounds crazy but that's how it was done. Two or three weeks later you would wonder if it made it there. Anyway, I like any Toledo venue for 2012. Pearl Jam - Speedway Jam - it's kinda gotta a nice ring to it.
    Things were different then

Anything but general admission! I'm old and there are to many idiots!!!!

As for Velvet Jones... 81. My best friend was the original drummer up until about 4 years ago or so. I've been in a original music band with him for about 6 years now. I've sat in for a song or two over the year with them as well.

Screw it, PJ can come play my house. I'll invite a few of my closest friends. And have the jager cooler loaded and ready to go...

St. Pats. yep I probably even stepped in for a song or two on that one too.

They really didn't start playing the D till the last year or so when he was playing. The big deal when the bar band thing was big was the Field house. Back when you couldn't move in that place...

Oh you're right. I was just saying that Speedwagon was there it almost every year, and for while in the later 2000's they were free.

I just hear the stories about how Seger flew in by chopper and surprised people at the Speedway. And about when AC/DC played there in like '80. G N R played it in '91.

They had some pretty decent shows.

i don't remember any good show sup there. hard to believe GNR would play the toledo speedway...

i remember seeing soul asylum downtown at promenade park. they had some cool concerts down there...maybe PJ could play there instead of the glass bowl.

is raceway park still closed? that could hold a few poeple...and they could have camping...if that wouldn't hurt the vibe too much.

Raceway Park was open this year, but for some reason I think I heard this was it's last year? Now sure I try to avoid most news sources.
