Is the footage on disks 2 and 3 even worth it? I've heard that The Kids Are Twenty is good, but what about disk 3? What's on it?
no offense but what something might be worth to someone on this forum that i don't even know would have absolutely no effect on whether i want it or not.
i for one find a pearl jam backpack to be completely worthless to me, however some people are treating it like it's the fountain of youth. and that's fine for them.
bottomline is the limited edition dvd/bluray should have been offered to fan club members first and foremost as a members only presale and then on the official day of release perhaps opened up to the general public. for this reason alone another run of both products should occur and the sale of them restricted to only the ten club members who have not purchased one already.

This.
I too don't care what others think of the content on the discs, or what they have to say abt video quality blah, blah...I had always intended to get the deluxe Ltd edn DVD but had to wait before making the purchase (not knowing it was gonna sell out so quickly and also not knowing that it was open for every man and his dog to buy as many copies as they 'needed'), once I read what disc 2 & 3 contained, I knew it was a must-have for me.
And I agree the next batch shd be 10C members only, with a limit of one item per member.
if I keep holding out,.... will the light shine through?

These people make me sick. "I didn't get what I wanted, so I'm gonna steal it." "Give me what I want or I'll steal it!" Pathetic. Pearl Jam isn't letting you down, and 10C isn't letting you down; you're letting them down. You're an embarrassment to the Pearl Jam community, and your behavior makes us all look bad. Shame.
So are they just supposed to never watch it then?
I'm sorry, it's 2011. When you make a movie or CD a "limited edition" all you're doing is limiting the amount of people who will pay you for the packaging that it comes in. If people can't get it they'll steal it.
If Pearl jam has a problem with that then they have no one to blame other than themselves for being too stupid to realize that their fans want this product more than anything.
There's a way to do things, and these idiots that are threatening and condoning piracy of the content are NOT doing it the right way. They are only showing how naive and ignorant they are and severely hurting the chances of those who want to legitimately view the content. Anyone who believes the band doesn't think fans want to see this stuff has their head up their butt. The band MADE this content you fools! They made it to be viewed by fans and intend for it to be seen by fans. Trust the band. To threaten and steal is to let down the band and the community. You make us all look bad.

LOL The band are the ones that made it a limited item in the first place. If they plan on making more then they should just say so...besides many of the people who post on this board and are downloading the content, would probably purchase it anyway, should it become available.

It'll never happen but I'll sign. I've never heard of a case where such an abudance of sold Presales causes a product to be sold out before it's even released. I thought the purpose of a Presale was to gauage demand and adjust production accordingly. I refuse to pay $300-$400 on Ebay for this (reminds me of the days I spent $50-$60 on unofficial bootlegs before official ones began production) and wasn't even too happy with a $70 price tag (3 1/2 times the cost of the regular $20 Best Buy Blu-Ray for 2 bonus discs?!?!?) but was going to purchase anyways since I'm beyond hard core. The fact that 10C was the ONLY place you can order this eeringly reminded me of a certain ticket company I was forced to purchase my Pearl Jam tickets from over the years...interesting. And of course it sells out somehow weeks before it's released.
But put me on the petition and I'll stay optimistic. For now I've saved $20 since my trusty DVR recorded this some weeks back...

Same here. I DVR'd it and don't feel like purchasing it unless it's the Deluxe version.
And I too purchased SOOOO many PJ bootlegs back in the day for $50 bucks a pop. Then Napster hit, then PJ released their own bootlegs (which I've purchased all of them BTW). I continue waiting.....
Sent another email to the Ten Club asking WHY they won't re-issue this:
The PJ20 Limited Edition Deluxe DVD & Blu Ray are Sold Out. Everything that was made has sold.
There is no plan to press more copies, but in the case that more of these become available, we will let 10C members know first.
Note, they didn't answer my question. Which was WHY they've decided to help bootleggers and flippers, but not the fans. No response to that. Just a cut and paste response to a question I didn't even ask.

*sigh*
They only made this particular configuration of the content limited. They don't plan to make more of this particular configuration available, that's why it was called "limited edition". What they most certainly WILL do is make the same content available in different configurations, possibly standalone DVDs and/or downloads. I would wager that's exactly what they're working on now, and explains why they haven't spoken of it yet.
Perhaps they're hoping to have the new materials ready for purchase in time for Christmas, but are aware of how unforgiving this crowd is and so don't want to say anything until they're certain. The point is, trust the band! Throwing tantrums and threatening the band and verbally abusing 10C employees and advocating piracy is just pathetic.

I agree with you last sentence, but not with everything else. You say that they most certainly will make the content available in different configurations. They may or may not, but the band or the 10C hasn't done anything lately to make people feel that this will "most certainly" happen. If they were going to do it in time for Christmas, it would likely be out there already..or there would be an indication that it was coming soon..Thanksgiving is already next week. All we've heard from 10C is that there are no plans to press more, and they haven't responded when asked why Fans isn't on itunes...this is a very far cry from you thinking that they most certainly will make the content available.
Again, maybe they will..I don't know...but what makes you so certain that they will?

what i find odd is ten club is ok with us sharing torrents to shows that were released as bootlegs or xmas singles over the years but not this. so it seems tenclub is ok with us openly sharing the bands material when they dont plan on making any more money off of it.
this leads me to think disc 3 will be made available in some form as may be the plan, they dont have control over the rights, or in due time we will be able to share torrents so everyone can see it.
this is all assuming we are still allowed to share mp3/flac of the old bootlegs. i havent been around much the last few years so maybe the policy has changed. are we allowed to share the files for 92 new years show that came with whatever album pre-order? cause if the answer is yes i think one day we will be able to share disc 3 too. since both were tenclub exclusive/limited items.
like my earlier post, im not condoning or condemning piracy of this release just making an observation.

Which would be a good thing. At least, it would piss flippers off, with a stock of Blurays/DVD they couldn't sell for $500 as easily as they are doing now.
^^ Better to piss off those flippers than the fans, that's for sure.
I still think they need to issue this in a "clampack" jewel case. Three DVD's and a simple booklet. Easily produced and affordable for the band and the fans.
Of course, the printing presses could be churning out Alpine Valley sets right now, too!

Money, plain and simple. It's highly doubtful the limited run made them back the money they spent on creating the content for disk 3, and I highly doubt they spent the money creating that material without the intention of making it back somehow. People do not run successful businesses that way, and let's be honest, PJ is a successful business.
In this digital age, once content is created it can be replicated and distributed at no further cost, there's no way they're going to pass up this avenue of distribution, regardless of whether or not they do another pressing of physical media.

If you don't realize this then you have no one but yourselves to blame for being too stupid to realize the band wants their fans to view this content more than anything.
Patience.
LOL The band are the ones that made it a limited item in the first place.

Note, they didn't answer my question. Which was WHY they've decided to help bootleggers and flippers, but not the fans. No response to that. Just a cut and paste response to a question I didn't even ask.
to me, it looks like they answered your question: "there is no plan to press more copies ..."
My question was "Why?" Not "Will you?"
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
thought they were pretty adamant that no more will get made...
Again, maybe they will..I don't know...but what makes you so certain that they will?
this leads me to think disc 3 will be made available in some form as may be the plan, they dont have control over the rights, or in due time we will be able to share torrents so everyone can see it.
this is all assuming we are still allowed to share mp3/flac of the old bootlegs. i havent been around much the last few years so maybe the policy has changed. are we allowed to share the files for 92 new years show that came with whatever album pre-order? cause if the answer is yes i think one day we will be able to share disc 3 too. since both were tenclub exclusive/limited items.
like my earlier post, im not condoning or condemning piracy of this release just making an observation.
Which would be a good thing. At least, it would piss flippers off, with a stock of Blurays/DVD they couldn't sell for $500 as easily as they are doing now.
