    Tebow could've been an Angel

Maybe if this whole professional football thing does’t work out, Tim Tebow can act on Plan B.

The quarterback, who has been the talk of the town recently in New England, could think about a potential career in Major League Baseball. According to WEEI, the Los Angels Angels of Anaheim were considering drafting Tebow out of high school — but fate stepped in the way. Tom Kotchman, a Florida-area scout for the Red Sox, previously worked for the Angels and remembered the now-famous quarterback’s baseball days.

“We wanted to draft him,” Kotchman said, “but he never sent back his information card. Either it never got to him, or … It’s Tim Tebow. Who knows if it got to him, and if it did we just never got it back. Otherwise were were going to take him.”

The information card — which asked a series of questions, including the player’s interest in playing pro baseball — was needed to even put Tebow’s name on the Angels’ draft board. Since it never came, the team sort of had their answer anyway.

Tebow played left field as a junior at Nease High in Ponte Vedra, Fla., hitting .494 with four home runs while leading his team to the final four of the state playoffs. That was the last year he played baseball, though, as he enrolled at Florida during the spring of his senior year to get a head start on his football career.

“He had a strong arm and had a lot of power,” said Red Sox Florida scout Stephen Hargett, who worked with Kotchman with the Angels. ”If he would have been there his senior year he definitely would have had a good chance to be drafted.

“He had leverage to his swing. He had some natural loft. He had some good power. He was a good athlete. He had had enough arm for that position. He was a left-handed hitter with strength and some size.”

If he makes the team, the Jets lose another several million in their salary cap. This could be Belichick effing with the Jets more then anything.

Can you explain how this would happen? I'm curious and can't see to find anything reporting on it.

To pay more, this article explains why the Jets have.

Easy to understand, it is not.

I got to thinking about this a little more … Bill Belichick most have a diabolical plan to use Tebow. He is a Sith Lord after all. He isn’t about charity.

I see him using Tebow in several ways …

    1) Any time they are inside the 50 with a 4th and less then five, they send him in as the punter

    2) Red Zone … lined up next to Brady when there is less then 3 yards left

    How say you?

He will be used as a tight end seeing Gronk will never be 100% again and that Hernandez will be behind bars before long. Go Tebow!

He is beyond delusional. He couldn't even be a #3 QB. He just needs to go away.

That's good as here is clearly a third string quarterback. I'm disappointed he wouldn't put in the work to try and climb the ladder as a QB.

Great game yesterday, Timmy. Struck out looking on 4 fastballs. Griped at the ump even though he's only seen 50 pitches in the last 2 decades. Grounded into a double play (and got a standing ovation for it... really, people??!), and in a savvy display of baserunning, got doubled up at 1st on a line drive to 2nd the one time he did reach base (on a HBP).
Someone who has been working their ass off their entire life to get an invite to Spring Training has their spot taken by this dumbass publicity stunt. You sucked at football, Timmy. What made you think a much harder sport like baseball was going to be any different?
