Hoping that Saul throwing Carrie under the bus was part of some larger plan.

The teaser at the end was slightly more interesting than the episode

what was the teaser? i think i missed it...

i liked the episode. at least they are not shying away from the perceived plot holes last year. i thought they would just gloss over carrie disapearing for 12 hours or so after the bombing...

    I think next week's clip?

(and I am also hoping for the larger plan scenario)

Speaking of glossing over, did I miss Miss-Speaks-as-if-Her-Jaws-Are-Wired-Shut's suicide attempt? That seemed like a jump.

(as did her topless photo taking - or...please tell me no...is that the norm with the young'uns these days?)

The daughter's suicide was off screen.

Man i really hope Saul has a plan. If not I'll be disapointed. I like to root for saul and wouldn't mind if the series changed its focus to him to be compeltly honest.

I liked the first episode. Maybe my standards are lower :corn:

I found myself pretty bored watching last night's episode...

It was somewhat boring for me also. Overall I liked it, but found the Dana/Brody family scenes extremely boring. They have never bothered me in the past. I think it's just a different type of episode without Brody.

I refer to the "coming up on Homeland" preview for next week-

    SPOILER ALERT

-Showing Carrie dragged off by some men in suits to have some type of treatment, and Quinn expressing his opposition to something (possibly the "throw Carrie under the bus plan"). And Carrie with Jessica Brody of all people.

I'm a bit nervous about this season to be honest. Season 2 stretched the boundaries of believability a little too far and was a let down after a really good first season. I'm just hoping that this show doesn't end up as a "Should have quit after 1 season" show
i think it should have finished on series 1.its becoming more and more far fetched,in saying that ill probably still watch it!

Ha! I thought I was being over-Dana'd too, but I kinda got where she was coming from toward the end.

Speaking of the end...jeezus, I bet Saul feels like shit. That scene with Carrie's mouth (and soul) all fucked up was tough to watch.

Yeah, those are uncomfortable scenes to watch. Claire Danes plays a great nut job.

Way, way, way too much Dana. It was funny reading all the comments on twitter last night.
  • like the last min of the episode...watched the trailoer from next one..seems Brondy show up..

Yes she does! Voice, eyebrows, body language...the whole thing.

The injection scene was reminiscent of MacMurphy getting zapped in Cuckoo's Nest...as in, I cringed.

(also looking forward to the return of Brondy  )

I enjoyed last night's episode and liked it more than the premiere overall. Each Dana scene just brought the whole show to a halt, but still didn't ruin the episode for me. The only scene with her I liked was after she got home. I thought everything else about this episode was good though. Claire Danes did a fantastic job, as always, and I am really liking the Quinn character. Brody returns next week!

"Brody should have blown up at the end of the first season along with the bomb he was wearing. That would’ve sent a clear message that the show was willing to take chances, and it would’ve removed the training wheels that is Brody. By keeping him around, the show has never had to really figure itself out."

Really? It completely killed the episode for me. Seemed like more than half of the episode was about Dana. No one gives a shit about Dana and her boyfriend. Dana is approaching Kim Bauer territory from '24'.

I expected it after the premiere, but I agree her scenes were slow, worthless, and boring. Hopefully the rest of the season's episodes have less Dana and family now that Brody is returning to the show.

Yeah, the Dana scenes spoiled the second episode for me. I liked the scene in the bathroom when she got home but the rest were a bit of a waste.

Also, I think Claire Danes is always really close to overacting as Carrie. I find myself being annoyed by her as often as I am impressed to be honest. Maybe that's what makes it a good performance but Carrie is too over the top to be believable sometimes
