Robert Plant is great! Saw him on his Fate of Nations tour, but he did a lot of LZ stuff. He'd start a song, sing and it would continue to morph until you forgot where he started. He'd wrap it up about 20 minutes later with the end of what he started with. It was fabulous!
When I am in the mood for emotional response: Pearl Jam or The Watchmen When I'm in the mood to rock the fuck out: Headstones
Are The Watchmen still around? Sorry, haven't been to Canada in a few years. I saw the Headstones several times between 98 and 03 and they always rocked the house. Haven't managed to see their new incarnation unfortunately. Can't recommend listening to their stuff when spending hours on an Autobahn though, the resulting lead foot was rather expensive *cough*

Yes, the Watchmen regrouped a few years back. Similar story to the Headstones. They were asked to play a birthday show for some record label/management guy or something, and after that, the offers for gigs started pouring in. they met, talked about it, decided to do it sporadically, on their own terms. they have released 2 new songs for free on their website, www.the-watchmen.com, as well as a live acoustic show they played in Australia in 99 I believe. They play festivals and such around Canada, and they have played some bigger gigs in Winnipeg, one of which they recorded and released on vinyl (the whole show digital, 8 or so songs on vinyl). I read somewhere recently in an interview that they are writing and recording, so we'll see where that goes.
they also released an anniversary edition of In The Trees with a bonus disc of demos they recorded with their first bassist before he left, along with some unreleased tracks. Excellent release.
