  • Anybody see Roger Waters?  My buddies went and they said it was VERY political.

  • So, I went a little crazy last night and bought tickets to a number of upcoming shows: The Church, Alison Moyet, Paul Weller, The National, and Imagine Dragons. I think that's it.

I'm wondering if it's worth buying "verified" resale tickets for U2 or Coldplay. I've never seen them live. I've liked U2 for ages, but am wondering if they are worth $450/ ticket at this point. Coldplay would be about half that. Thoughts?
U2 was good...not worth $450/ticket in my opinion.  I would suggest stubhub for cheaper tix...try to avoid side stage.  If you are too far in you can't see the whole screen.

I don't buy tickets for nosebleed seats (fear of heights), so 450 looked like the best price I could get.

We decided not to go. My husband felt that was too much to pay to see U2 at this stage -- after seeing Bob Dylan last year for "'bucket list" reasons, we are all done with using that excuse to buy concert tickets, I guess. [Of course, after saying that those tickets were way too expensive, he bid on and won an EV autographed guitar.  :s ]

Definitely worth the cost of the ticket. Both bands are great live.

    QOTSA in January. :)
That's all I've got for the upcoming year so far. I had a pretty damn good 2017. Looks like my last show of the year will be the Headstones on Nov 10th (kind of a random one for me - my friend grabbed tix for no particular reason).

Queens of the Stone Age in Victoria!! :)

I've been on a drought.  Haven't seen a show since Elton John was here in the spring.    I didn't feel very motivated to go see all the big acts this past summer.  Had seen them all before (most of them multiple times).  They were all expensive and stadium shows.  I took a pass.

It's pretty cool that QoTSA is coming here.   I've seen them before so I wouldn't of gone all the way to Vancouver to see them, but I definitely go out to support bands I like when they make the effort to play here.

Nice run of shows right there. Wish I could make it to one of these APC shows, but they're playing nowhere near me.

    Oct 10th - Paul Weller

^^^^ I hope you enjoyed this; I'm seeing him again next week.
Paul Weller is one of the best live acts I've ever seen. I first saw him with the Style Council, in Berlin, 1985. What a night that was.

Oh my god! You saw The Style Council!!! I am so Effffing jealous. The show I saw on Oct 10th in Toronto was my 5th time seeing the MOD FATHER, and it was the best of the lot. He played 31 songs with 4 encores. How do his shows keep getting better? I wish more people on this board would check him out, because they would be blown away. Enjoy the show and come back and let us know how it was. So glad someone else in the 10C is into PW.

My drought is ending.  Now I have tickets to two shows :)

    Headstones - November 9
Queens of the Stone Age - January 22

It's nice to have some good shows coming locally.    I've been passing on the recent trend of super expensive stadium tours, so having some smaller local shows to go to is pretty sweet.    Headstones played here a few years ago and it was one of the best shows i've seen.  They tore the house down :)
